Description
As a member of Santander’s Global Corporate Banking (GCB) division, you’ll be part of a global business unit that provides tailored services and high value-added wholesale products to client companies with a global presence and over $500m in annual revenue. The four areas of GCB US include:
• Corporate & Investment Banking: This area receives the support of GCB local and global product teams and is split in two groups: Large Corps that covers clients with revenues between $500 and $2Bn; and Global Relationship Model (MRG) that covers clients with annual revenues in excess of $2bn.
• Global Transactional Services: A product team specialized in bilateral lending, trade finance, and Cash Management.
• Financial Solutions and Advisory: A product team specialized in syndicated loans, project finance, debt capital markets, equity capital markets and tax equity.
• Fixed Income Sales: A product team specialized in the sale of instruments to hedge interest rate risk and exchange rate risk of corporate clients’ liabilities.
Responsibilities:
• Analyzes and executes structured and traditional trade finance transactions including letters of credit (ISP98 and UCP600 international rules), discounting payables/supply chain finance, tailor-made receivables discounting programs, commodity finance: inventory; borrowing base and reserve base lending and cross border pre export finance
• Obtains credit approval and negotiate agreements with clients and legal department.
• Performs compliance and due diligence analyses
• Liaises with the Banks affiliates, Legal, Credit and Operations
• Manages own development and performance
• Updates spreadsheets with the transactions closed and calculates pricing for new deals
• Prepares presentations for new deals
• Enhances and develops client contacts for deals execution
• Fulfills support role to ensure smooth deal execution across all GTB product line
Qualifications
• Bachelors Degree required; Masters Degree in Economics preferred
• At least 7-10 years of in executing structured and traditional trade finance transactions
• Knowledge of SWIFT message,contracts and clauses
• Strong knowledge of trade finance products
• Proficiency in foreign languages such as Spanish and Portuguese preferred
• Excels in building relationships with customers and devloping client contacts
• Strong understanding of financial mathematics and US Market
