Position Description Overview
Financial Reporting Manager will be responsible for overseeing the financial reporting of our GAAP results to Accounting leaders, senior management and up to the SEC. Responsibilities include planning and executing the timeline and tasks associated with the company's 10-Q/K filings, BAMS F/S, IPS F/S, employee benefit plan F/S, U.S. Census filings, and other financial reports.
Job Responsibilities
• Responsible for managing general Accounting functions and/or Accounting Policy functions.
• Executes divisional activities related to general accounting functions including the establishment and maintenance of a complete set of books and records for an FDC business unit; closing and reconciliation of the General Ledger and all financial systems; and reports and analysis related to the Balance Sheet.
• Provides technical accounting expertise and policy interpretation for complex transactions.
• May be responsible for technical accounting research and writing accounting memos to support the Company’s positions and conclusions.
• Reviews proposed contracts and other potential transactions and advises finance and business leaders of the accounting implications.
• Maintains existing accounting policies and creates new policies as needed.
• Monitors the activities of accounting standard setting bodies and evaluates the impact on the Company's policies and financial statements in compliance with Company and/or GAAP standards.
• May ensure the propriety of accounting for financial transactions in accordance with GAAP and/or established policies and ensure internal controls are in place. Ensures that risks, exposure and key business issues are identified, properly accounted for and resolved.
• Directs the accounting process for business unit acquisitions.
• May perform all duties inherent in a managerial role. Provides guidance, planning, and direction for functional units they support.
Job Requirements
• Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent work experience.
• 4-7+ years financial accounting experience, including public accounting and SEC Reporting.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• Strong technical knowledge and skills, to include SEC regulations, US GAAP, etc.
• People Manager / Leadership experience preferred.
• Experience with Hyperion Financial Management or an equivalent software.
• Strong abilities in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to build and improve processes. Ability to execute on organizational vision and plans.
• Strong problem solving and communication skills.
