Senior Accounting Analyst

You will review and approve highly complex account reconciliations and ensure they accurately reflect the account’s balance. Conducting insightful assessments of the internal and external business landscape with an awareness of financial impact will be an important part of your job. You will actively pursue process improvements and identify what success looks like to the customer. Your on-going partnerships with customers will lead to continuously improving service levels.
Performs a variety of routine and some non-routine analysis functions in accordance with standard procedures in general accounting, with a higher concentration in Accounts Receivable. Responsible for recommending and supporting process improvements, standardizing and streamlining procedures, creating written desktop procedures, training, metrics, research and special projects.
Your job duties will include:
• Responsible for Mergers and Acquisition activities such as system and process integrations.
• Assist in monitoring the accounting close process.
• Investigates, analyzes and tracks medium to high complex cash related issues.
• Researches and resolves discrepancies on general ledger accounts related to areas of responsibility.
• Maintaining Sarbanes- Oxley internal control narratives and testing documentation.
• Participates in process improvements, cost reduction and issue resolution initiatives.
• Hands-on strategic individual who works independently as well as in a highly collaborative team environment.
• Relies on experience and judgment to perform job functions.
• Possesses a certain degree of creativity and flexibility.
Job Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Typically requires 4-7 years of related experience.
• Requires critical thinking using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
• Problem Solving-identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
• Demonstrates a conceptual understanding of accounting and finance principles and the ability to apply them to the duties described above.
• Strong computer skills including all applications in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to diagnose and analyze problems and identify and drive appropriate solutions.
• Experience facilitating meetings with high level cross functional teams.
• Experience with mainframe system, Oracle preferred.
