Reporting to the Union Bank Marketing Executive, the Marketing Director is responsible for the strategic marketing direction of the unsecured lending line of business, including credit card and consumer loans. This role is responsible for working directly with the line of business to create marketing plans that drive results. The incumbent also works closely with other line of business marketing strategists to develop thoughtful and relevant experiences across client segments. Additionally, this role is responsible for ensuring deliverables are managed on-time, on-budget, and on-brief.

Major Responsibilities:
Marketing Plan Development and Management
• Create and manage annual marketing plans that align with the needs of the business line.
• Re-visit plans quarterly to ensure they continue to meet business needs.
• Oversee marketing budget and work with Finance to ensure the budgeting, forecasting, and in-year impacts are being accounted for on a monthly basis.
• Serve as the day-to-day owner of specific high-profile marketing programs.
Business Partner Collaboration
• Work with senior management across the line of business to align business needs with Marketing output.
• Interact with senior management by providing both marketing expertise and sound business judgment.
• Be familiar with the competition, including customer experience and marketing messaging.
• Ideate and present innovative opportunities for testing and learning.
Marketing Execution
• Work closely with the Marketing Shared Services (MSS) team to ensure all marketing activity is executed flawlessly.
• Serve as the primary Compliance/Legal contact for mortgage marketing.
• Work with Sales & Service team to develop associate readiness programs for upcoming marketing activity.
Team Management
• Provide ongoing management and mentorship of direct report marketing professionals.
• Work with individual team members to create annual performance plans and conduct mid-year and annual performance reviews.
• Drive a team spirit and a natural integration across customer segments/lines of business.
• Work closely with other senior marketing leaders to support a superior and consistent customer experience.
Digital Marketing and CRM
• Work closely with the Digital Marketing Team to ideate and drive the appropriate digital functionality of unionbank.com.
• “Own” the digital content related to the respective section of unionbank.com.
• Determine how best to onboard and maintain customer relationships.
• Be an active participant in the development of a refresh of unionbank.com.
• Responsible for activation of unionbank.com to be a source of rich content while also creating opportunities to drive revenue through the digital channel.
Qualifications
Education, Licensure, Years of Experience, and Type of Work Experience
• 15+ years of marketing experience, including financial services experience
• Residential Lending marketing experience
• MBA or Master’s degree preferred
• Experience in managing a team, but also contributing at an individual level
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Exemplary verbal and written communication skills required
• Strong, decisive leadership ability
• Analytical prowess and fluency
• Strong presentation skills in the presence of executive management
• Flexibility to adjust in an often-changing business environment
• Organized and process-oriented
• Six Sigma experience a plus
