Job Description
Protection Finance - Data Quality and Integrity maintains Protection Finance’s credibility and reputation of high quality financial data, reporting and consultation by delivering accurate, timely, consistent and relevant reporting/data to the Protection business unit. This can include improving report/data integrity through implementing systematic enhancements that streamline and automate the quality assurance process while gaining definitional alignment across the department to ensure one version of the truth.
Job Summary:
Design and execute quality assurance checks on financial reports/data to ensure accuracy, completeness and consistency of results using your strong skill set focused on detail and finance acumen.
Utilize data, technology, relationships and team members to perform appropriate validation of reports, recommend consolidation or elimination of reports with duplicate data and identify improvements in execution
• Maintain Protection Finance credibility and reputation of high quality (accurate, timely, consistent, relevant) financial data, reporting and consultation
• Use data, technology, business knowledge and statistics to build automation to streamline quality controls
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform detailed report/data validations to ensure report accuracy through validating established controls, reviewing content, structure and troubleshooting as needed
• Provide accurate and timely reports/data to allow business partners throughout the organization to improve performance
• Implement innovative quality control concepts to gain efficiencies and craft action plans to improve overall business processes
• Inspire trust and confidence with clients through strategic and diplomatic handling of relationships
• Consult with report owners on unusual report trends, quality controls and distribution practices
• Participate in quality assurance initiatives during the report build phase
• Identify improvements in reporting, validation and distribution
• Manage end-user expectations, working to resolve identified issues timely and acting as the Reporting COE liaison by obtaining and responding to client feedback
• Train and review the work of other analysts
Job Qualifications
• A minimum of 1+ years of financial reporting experience in an Insurance company or Financial Services organization
• Strong attention to detail with a solid work ethic, including ability to follow-up and take initiative. Effective time management skills and organizational skills with a shown ability to multi-task.
• Ability to articulate findings, work independently and prioritize work
• Intermediate technical knowledge (e.g., accounting/close processes, etc.)
• Intermediate business knowledge (e.g., financial skills/flow of the numbers)
• Analytical skills to compile information requiring combinations of data from different sources, along with the ability to work with numbers and formulas
• Intermediate technical knowledge/data management (i.e.; data flow within systems, data mapping, meta data, etc.)
• Intermediate ability to build reports using a variety of tools such as SAP BW, Business Objects Web Intelligence and Microsoft Office software (Excel & PowerPoint)
• Strong oral and written communication skills, able to work seamlessly with employees both internal and external to the finance function
• Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment
• Bachelor Degree Required or equivalent/relevant experience
