POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Associate, Operational Risk supports the design and implementation of the Internal Loss Reporting (ILR) and Product & Service Risk (P&SR) programs across the enterprise. The role involves partnering with business and control area management to communicate requirements, facilitate implementation, and report on progress of the programs. The incumbent will actively contribute to and pursue the strategy, goals and agenda of the Operational Risk Program Leader.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
• Develop, maintain and implement project plans to achieve program deliverables on time and under control.
• Provide training and instruction on the effective and consistent achievement of the program requirements
• Support the optimization and ongoing use of the Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) tools
• Monitor the quality of program submissions through managed review process
• Drive a process to “connect the dots” across the risk information from the various Business Areas to identify correlated risks events, common risk drivers, mitigation programs and other related risk information that is significant to report.
• Develop strong working relationships with colleagues in Risk Management, businesses, and other control groups to leverage synergies and ensure that we are being efficient and consistent in assessing and reporting risks and losses.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
• Bachelors’ Degree is required.
• 3+ years’ experience preparing reports related to risk management or compliance issues is required.
Preferred:
• Advanced degree is preferred.
• 3-5 years solid experience in a risk management function in the financial services industry with a preference for retirement, life insurance and retail financial services
• Experience with a risk governance and compliance tool.
• Enterprise or Operational Risk expertise especially as it relates to loss identification, root cause analysis, and product review/risk concepts.
