CNO Financial is seeking a Senior Market Intelligence Analyst within the Product Marketing department.
The Senior Analyst is a key member of our Market Intelligence team and plays a critical role in our product development process. This high-exposure position is responsible for helping to build and refine CNO’s competitive and consumer intelligence processes, including analyzing, reporting, and communicating results to audiences ranging from senior executives to core marketing and product team members. This position is also responsible for helping lead key aspects of the conception and discovery phases of new product development in support of the company’s strategic product development goals.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
• Help lead the design and execution of custom competitive and consumer intelligence research projects building new department protocols and approaches
• Help lead and mentor other analysts as needed and help manage inventory/pipeline of work
• Create easy-to-understand, organized and audience-appropriate competitive and consumer intelligence reports on a daily, weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc basis across communication vehicles including email, Word and PowerPoint
• Serve as an internal product-related expert on competitive, industry and/or other research, including expertise on appropriate data sources and vendors
• Proactively research and analyze competitors and identify trends to support CNO’s strategy, including the strategic planning process, quarterly business reviews, and board meetings; Proactivity inform key stakeholders of notable competitor/industry activities
• Collect data via a variety of methodologies based on need and scope, synthesize findings, and summarize potential implications for CNO and its stakeholders
• Maintain competitive and consumer intelligence repository and ensure project documents are up-to-date and organized
• Work with external vendors as a key part of information flows and on adhoc requests
Core Skills & Knowledge Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field; MBA is a plus
• 5+ years of product marketing experience in the insurance industry; Familiarity with Life and Health products is a plus
• Very comfortable and adept at all three aspects of market intelligence, including collecting data, analyzing/summarizing the results, and presenting key findings to executive-level professionals
• Some product development experience with specific experience in developing product strategy and new product ideas and concepts
• Familiarity with financial statements
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software with strong PowerPoint skills and intermediate Excel skills
