Beginning in 2016, Capital Group has been making significant investments in marketing infrastructure to build on a global marketing team that is strategizing, developing, implementing, and refining the firm’s marketing capabilities to connect with individual investors, financial advisors and institutional investors. While enhancing existing marketing channels and partners is mission critical, the primary marketing push will place a heavy emphasis on digital platforms and tools. Best practices and next generation technologies are being incorporated to enhance Capital Group’s ability to aggressively accelerate marketing rollout, drastically reduce timelines for achieving traditional marketing KPIs, and ultimately impact the business.
Capital Group seeks to recruit a Vice President, Digital Platforms to build and scale the organization’s growth with Advisors. Reporting to the Vice President of Digital, the VP of Digital Platforms will be a seasoned, hands-on digital marketing executive with significant digital, e-commerce, analytics and technology expertise as well as leadership experience. S/he will set the tone and provide strategic leadership in this area. The ideal candidate will bring a sense of urgency to growing our brand awareness and sales growth. The VP of Digital Platforms will have direct accountability for developing the Capital Group’s digital activation plan and its execution. S/he will act as an evangelist for digital transformation and help lead change in the way Capital Group serves its customers. S/he will be accountable for delivering significant business value in terms of the firm’s growth, digital productivity, and customer experience.
Responsibilities:
• Accountable for setting the product platform strategy, timing and capabilities through a deep understanding of the market opportunity and customer needs
• Define product strategy and maintain roadmap for product
• Engage directly with external partners as well as internal IT partners to ensure platform offers the right capabilities that deliver superior experiences
• Partner with Analytics to create and maintain reporting and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
• Transform data to insight and product decisions
• Assess key market factors, including competitive landscape, consumer insights and unmet customer needs as input to innovative products, services and programs to meet the unique needs of users and stakeholders
• Effectively communicate, formally and informally, with company senior management to define strategy, work plans and results of new product initiative
• Change agent - Stay current on digital trends and ensure that products remain relevant
• Strategically assist in the design and delivery of a holistic and consistent user experience
Requirements:
• 10+ years of experience in a digital marketing capacity, with a focus on digital marketing, e-commerce, and acquisition/retention, ideally within a financial services company
• Deep experience in building, launching, and managing technology products
• Strong leadership and project management skills
• Deep passion and fluency in contemporary digital product methodologies (e.g. Agile, rapid prototyping, A/B testing, etc.)
• Track record of developing business cases
• Strong knowledge of Adobe suite preferred
• Entrepreneurial, startup, or high-growth corporate experience a plus
