The Commercial Payments Credit & Risk Analyst I/II will be responsible for ensuring proper credit & risk oversight for the Commercial Payment Products area of Commerce Bank. The Credit & Risk Analyst is responsible for underwriting and credit review of high dollar commercial payment products to customers largely on unsecured terms. The Commercial Payments portfolio is comprised of commercial card, , merchant accounts, and other commercial payment products, including credit and non-credit based product offerings. The position will work with individual customer accounts in addition to performing basic segmented analytics on various Commercial Payments portfolio’s and industries from a credit and risk standpoint. Commercial Payments Credit & Risk Analysts are a part of the overall risk management and oversight program at Commerce Bancshares, Inc.
Work Hours: Monday-Friday (8:00am-5:00pm)
Analyst I
• At least 1 year of credit analysis experience
• Credit review, underwriting, regulatory, or credit risk management experience preferred
Analyst II
• 3-5 years of credit review, underwriting, regulatory, or credit risk management experience
All Levels
• A clear understanding of
• Commerce organization structure, strategic initiatives, management philosophy, and corporate culture.
• Commerce Products.
• Commerce policies, procedures, reporting and accounting systems.
• College Degree (BA/BS) in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Management.
• Basic knowledge of statistical modeling and its impact on policies, procedures, governing principles, and credit tools.
• Intermediate skill spreading financial statements into the bank’s spread system software and other models which include financial default projections
• Basic working knowledge of performance measures and management reports.
• Basic working knowledge of business intelligence, data mining, analytics, transmissions, and strategy.
• Basic skill working with predictive credit scoring and modeling.
• Basic skill interpreting commercial and consumer credit reports and data and using that information to make credit decisions and recommendations.
• Basic skill of interpreting business financials, business tax returns, personal financial statements, and personal tax returns
• Demonstrated ability to maintain high customer service standards.
• Demonstrated results-oriented and self-motivated personality.
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Knowledge of commercial and retail lending documentation and regulations.
• Basic reading, writing and listening skills.
• Basic presentation skills.
• Basic skill with Microsoft Office Products.
May be filled at a level I or II based on experience.
