Business Overview:
Corporate Credit Management (“CCM”) is a transversal team in support of the approximately 800 Corporate Clients of the North American platform. The CCM team works to ensure coverage, monitoring & execution of all counterparty risk requests for the Corporate platform. Three functional pillars exist in the team including:
(1) Corporate Credit Team – consists of the Credit Analyst & Account Management organizations which provide sector/transaction specialized risk monitoring for the Corporate platform.
(2) Transaction Management – Front Office liaison team for all functional teams. In addition, provides support on complex transaction and project management.
(3) Corporate Credit Coordination – coordinates credit process/methodology topics throughout the CCM team and the Corporate platform.
Responsibilities:
Assist with management of a Credit Team team of up to 16 credit analyst staff (Analysts to VPs). Execution team is located in New York. Works with Coverage Bankers, Product Partners and Risk Corporate to manage the credit process workflow for a portfolio of about 200 Coverage relationships.
Maintain and monitor credit quality of the Coverage portfolio.
• Ensure that accurate and quality credit proposals are maintained.
• Work with Coverage bankers to ensure deadlines are met with clients and appropriate deal teams are formed as needed.
• Coordinate and directly manage complex transactions including the preparation of proposals if required
• Ensure adherence to Bank standards of analysis.
• Anticipate credit issues and alert local management on related topics.
• Reviews credit proposals completed by the Sector Associates.
• Monitor and follow-up of portfolio exception reporting and general credit pipeline.
• Reinforce the proper use of all credit process tools and methodologies include key data elements originating with the credit request.
Assist in managing a team of developing Sector Analysts, Associates & VPs
• Provide guidance and oversight to a developing team of CIB professionals including frequent feedback to team plus year end and mid-year appraisals.
• Participate in orientation training and other training as needed.
• Focus on mobility and development of team to next position in BNPP.
• Recruit solid replacement or new associates as needed.
• Communicate and develop team spirit.
Internal
• Manage and ensure compliance with all internal and external rules and regulations as it pertains to the business and BNP Paribas
• Adhere to all of the Bank's policies and procedures, including Compliance / KYC / on-boarding procedures
• Manage audit/examiner requests, ad hoc projects, credit committees, RAC / LSC meetings as needed
• Participate in transversal projects as needed.
Minimum Required Qualifications
• 5+ years in a Corporate Banking environment
• Undergraduate Degree in Finance/Accounting
• Strong knowledge of financial statement analysis, excel, general banking products and practices
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
• MBA
• Knowledge of credit process and methodologies
• Formal credit training
FINRA Registrations Required:
Series 79 and Series 63
