Senior Analytics and Reporting Consultant

Role Value Proposition
The individual filling the Senior Analytics and Reporting Consultant role will be central to the success of the Sales team within MetLife’s Global Customer Solutions (GCS) group, which provides Sales and Customer Service support for key insurance and protection products across the globe.
The individual in this role will:
• Serve as subject matter expert on all reporting and analytics activities
• Build strong working cross-functional relationships to ensure deliverable quality, timeliness, and buy-in
• Drive core strategic projects to successful completion
• Identify reporting and analytics challenges and work to develop solutions
• Collaborate with senior leadership to help achieve organizational and sales targets
This position sits within the Consultative Support Team, a strategic and dynamic group that focuses on both the short-term and long-term operational success of the sales organization.
With four brick-and-mortar U.S. locations and numerous virtual sites, MetLife’s GCS Sales group answers more than 1.1M customer calls and drives more than $300M in new business premium every year. This role is demanding although highly rewarding. Hundreds of individuals including sales agents, supervisors, managers, support staff, and leaders will depend on you to better understand individual and organizational performance, trends, and underlying drivers.
You will have the opportunity to work directly with and learn from senior leaders in the organization. To succeed in this role, you must be extraordinarily detail-orientated, have an understanding of and passion for working with and understanding data, have the ability to successfully manage multiple projects/workstreams, and possess above-average emotional intelligence.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide analytics support, tools, and methodologies to help business management make informed and data-driven decisions
• Identify business needs and concerns to develop adequate reporting frameworks, procedures, and practices for generating reports
• Build strong cross-functional relationships with key business partners
• Train colleagues on methodologies to allow them to become informed and self-proficient with available tools
• Manage appropriate data repository and reporting tools that will be used to organize, analyze, and report data
• Design, develop, and execute reports to help management better assess challenges
• Present results in visually engaging and intuitive dashboards
• Support the development of standards reports and produce ad-hoc report and analysis as required
• Work with IT and related parties in resolving data issues and improvement of the data environment
• Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and site goals
• Partner with leadership to ensure proper data governance
• Improve reporting process to eliminate waste and create more value for customers / stakeholders
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required:
• Minimum of 3+ years of demonstrated related quantitative and qualitative analytics capability
• Minimum of 3+ years demonstrated experience researching information, problem solving, and recommending solutions
• Minimum of 3+ years demonstrated experience producing accurate and detailed work on multiple projects under time pressure
• Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office software products
• Demonstrated expertise with MS Excel, Access; VBA, SQL
• Demonstrated experience with attention to detail, time management, written and oral communication, multi-tasking, and working within a team atmosphere
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
• Demonstrated judgement and alignment with company policies, procedures and compliance
• Demonstrated ability to manage change and to support company-wide initiatives
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively both as an individual and as a member of a team
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with ability to prioritize varying deadlines
• Demonstrated ability to make quick decisions in a professional and confident manner, based on research, knowledge, and strategy
• Demonstrated comfort dealing with ambiguity
Preferred:
• Familiarity working within call center environments, sales environments, financial services, or insurance environments
• Demonstrated ability to build consensus among diverse leaders and manage sensitive situations discreetly
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous, ongoing improvement in the level of service/sales provided to internal and external customers
• Demonstrated experience in providing strategic counsel to senior executives across functions
