Job Summary
• The Creative Designer (Creative Designer IV) is primarily responsible for producing motion graphics, video, online and print materials for the graphics team.
• The Creative Designer will take ownership over producing complete graphic art and visual materials for online, print, video and interactive marketing, communications and informative/instructional materials.
• More specifically, the Creative Designer must be able to design internal and external marketing collateral such as brochures, website visuals, internal videos, interactive presentations, flyers, direct mail campaigns, agent/employee conference campaigns, etc.
• The Creative Designer will also support frontend development with user experience best practices to develop digital solutions, web sites and communication campaigns.
• The Creative Designer will coordinate directly with the Graphic Services team to advise other departments within Enterprise Communications on design options.
• The Creative Designer must be able to listen to the needs of the client and provide strategic design advice.
• The Creative Designer will then be responsible for scoping all aspects of the design process in a way that meets the client's needs and budget.
Essential Job Functions
• Designs and produces art and copy layouts for material to be presented by visual communications media, such as internal communications announcements, brochures, marketing material, presentations, signage, environmental graphics, media displays, electronic media, web assets, and program packaging with brand consistency while adhering to budget and timeline constraints.
• Design of web site, landing pages, and digital campaigns.
• Creates original artwork, photography, illustrations or infographics to integrate into design that are on strategy and reflect brand's personality for print and web use.
• Designs exceptional presentations and motion graphics.
• Collaborates with art directors, communications directors, key business stakeholders and vendors to achieve and execute design solution.
• Press checks - diagnose pre and post press printing issues.
• Thorough documentation and workflow skills.
• Serves an indirect supervisorial role by providing feedback to and mentoring others.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
Experience Requirements
• 5 years of work experience in a related field with roles of increasing responsibility also required.
• Web and interactive design with experience in HTML, CSS and Javascript User Experience best practices.
• Experience balancing complex projects and competing deadlines.
Special Skill Requirement
• Strong knowledge of printing process and cost, photography, illustration, layout and typography.
• Exceptional presentation, design, web and motion graphics skills. Experience with After Effects preferred.
• Proven exceptional design in visual communications with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop with speed, efficiency and quality.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and all aspects of design, production and documentation.
• Proven competency in digital workflow for web, digital and video formats.
• Ability to press check and assist in preproduction printing preflight.
