We're looking to add an energetic and driven HR Generalist to our collaborative HR team in Sarasota, FL. Join us as we continue to make Jackson Hewitt a great place to work!
What you'll do:
Provide a wide variety of support to the HR department and client groups in executing day-to-day human resources activities.
Recruitment: Manage the requisition process in the system including completion, approvals, and documentation. Perform phone screens, schedule and facilitate interviews with candidates, coordinate feedback meetings with hiring managers and prepares offer letters.
On-boarding & Employee Maintenance: Perform thorough on-boarding including sending new employee documents, coordinating asset and computer access, conducting New Hire orientation, gathering completed new hire paperwork and maintaining I-9 records. Perform accurate entry of data related to new-hires, terminations, job changes, etc. Develop and produce various reports as needed. Maintain the integrity and security of all personnel files, in compliance with local and federal regulations. Work collaboratively with other areas within HR, HRIS and Payroll to insure accurate and timely processing of HR data.
Employee Relations: Addresses potential and actual issues as necessary to create and maintain a positive culture. Coach and assist management with performance management or disciplinary documentation. Schedule and conduct exit interviews and analyze themes. Escalate concerns as appropriate.
EEO & Employment Law: Collaborate with HR colleagues to investigate internal and/or external charges/complaints of discrimination or harassment. Partner with legal where appropriate.
Order office and pantry supplies as needed. Arrange space for in-house and online company meetings and special events.
Experience you bring:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related business experience.
• 2-4 years HR generalist experience.
• PHR/SPHR certification preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws.
• Capability of managing and completing multiple tasks within specified deadlines in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
• Initiative and a strong sense of urgency and ownership.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
• High proficiency with various software programs including MS Office suite and HRIS systems
