POSITION SUMMARY
TheAVP Credit Riskreports to the Chief Credit Officer and will oversee credit policy, credit analytics and risk management. The role will be responsible for identifying and implementing opportunities to improve credit policy, evaluate and act on emerging trends, and proactively identify and escalate risk.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Support the organization on matters of understanding and interpreting credit policy (Caliber's as well as GSE / agency guides)
• Initiate and lead efforts to address credit policy adjustments while securing organizational buy-in or awareness
• Oversight of loan product development initiatives and change control to ensure appropriate credit policy alignment
• Develop and monitor score-carding and reporting to evaluate credit quality, risk and loan performance across all pertinent dimensions
• Utilize data analytics to understand performance drivers and root cause of issues, leading to actionable recommendations
• Keep abreast of industry trends and developments in order to escalate potential risks or opportunities
• Own and drive a variety of credit focused improvement projects
• Establish strong working relationships and communication routines with cross-functional partners
QUALIFICATIONS
• 10+ years of residential mortgage experience
• 5+ years of underwriting or credit policy experience
• Metric oriented with expert level analytical skills and problem solving abilities, strong knowledge of statistical analysis highly desirable
• Knowledge of risk governance framework, risk management systems and applicable guidance
• Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication.
• Strong work management, organization and planning skills, able to perform duties with low supervision.
• Integrity, combined with high personal and professional standards and ethics
• Bachelor Degree required, advanced degree or equivalent training preferred
