Job Summary
The Director, Solution Marketing – General Optimization is responsible for content creation and sales tool development to support the roll-out of repeatable solution sales plays within our DMS Line of Business.
This individual creates the core kit of selling and marketing materials for optimization solutions, working with stakeholders and subject-matter experts in Sales, Product, and Marketing to codify and define solution sales plays, create core sales enablement assets, and support and create marketing content to support demand generation efforts.
This position is critical in the evolution of the FICO Sales and Marketing organization and go-to-market strategy, and will be central and pivotal to driving change and activating a solution selling model across the sales organization.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the DMS Marketing Strategist on prioritized solutions to understand the problem, the solution, the target account profile, and the regions in which we will be selling optimization solutions.
• Collaborate with product and sales teams to understand our existing optimization footprint in our customer base, their buyer journey, the value proposition driving sales, and new solution focus to properly message to the target prospects, AR, and general PR.
• Lead a core virtual team of subject matter experts and meet with a regular cadence – including product management, product marketing, digital marketing, pre-sales, sales, sales leaders, field marketing and professional services. Work collaboratively to gain insight, feedback, and alignment on the solution messaging and content plan.
• Build a core messaging and positioning framework for Optimization solutions - relative to both the academic and technical audiences (operations research) as well as business audiences (data science leaders and analysts).
• Create a solution content toolkit for each solution based upon needs of supporting team, including internally-facing enablement materials, writing new externally available top of the funnel content, and linking to existing mid to bottom of the funnel content. Leverages, enhances and extends core product content and enablement tools generated by product marketing.
• Articulate our value proposition to all internal FICO marketing stakeholders, external industry analysts and clients.
• Train the marketing and sales teams on solution and available content.
• Continually show thought leadership through personal blogging, writing customer-win stories, pulling in external thought leaders to contribute to solution content, and staying up to speed on industry/solution news and distributing to the right sellers / marketers.
• Lead content strategy and performance measurement across all content performance management for Optimization solutions.
• Contribute and provide insight into initiatives and programs lead and executed by other teams (installed base program, case study program, community program, customer experience programs and analyst engagement).
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Marketing or Communications. MBA or Master’s Degree in Marketing or Business Management a plus.
• Solution marketing experience in the software industry; international experience a plus.
• Demonstrated experience in software and solutions focused on optimization or prescriptive analytics; experience with machine learning a plus.
• Proven ability to write thought leadership pieces, blog posts, internal communications and enablement.
• Demonstrated effectiveness in managing relationships with disparate groups and creating working teams for key initiatives, working across functions to deliver programs and initiatives on-time and on-budget.
• Proven leadership skills, including decision facilitation, influencing and change management.
• Experience communicating with both technical and business audiences. This role requires both business acumen and technical understanding of our value proposition – beyond optimization this requires an understand of prescriptive and AL/ML.
• Ability to research and understand competitive positioning and suggest effective competitive differentiation.
• Hands-on work style, coupled with highly effective project management, time management and results-orientation skills.
• Highly collaborative – able to work well with other marketing and cross-functional leaders to achieve goals.
• Analytical, data-driven decision-style with a strong grasp of MS Office applications.
