JOB SUMMARY
Community Accountability Department coordinates the enterprise-wide business unit efforts to ensure effective engagement with, investment in and extension of bank products and services to the communities in which Associated Bank operates. Collectively, these efforts comprise the company's Community Strategy and are governed by the Community Oversight Committee.
This position is responsible for building long term and effective relationships in support of the company's Community Strategy in a defined region/territory. The incumbent will identify and engage with a variety of sourcing entities spanning the public and private sector, and include nonprofit and for profit organizations. The person will work to achieve the goals set forth in the Community Commitment Plan by developing and deepening relationships and partnerships with critical influencers within these organizations that help the bank and impacted lines of business achieve goals for targeted production and investment.
The Community Accountability role will work with the CRA Department, LOB Leaders, Community Market Presidents and other internal influencers and make recommendations for partnerships and support of organizations and initiatives that drive targeted production and outreach opportunities that support the Community Strategy across our assessment areas. The person will also represent the bank through participation, attendance and engagement in conferences, local boards/councils, and other economic development opportunities as they arise. This person will serve as an expert for our managers and staff around the bank's community engagement efforts.
The Community Accountability Officer will work with the Community Accountability Director and line of business heads to support execution on community commitment plans and strategies. This could include input on negotiations with community activities, development and response to community group requests, working with line management to ensure products, policies, procedures and controls are in place to capture all of the banks efforts to meet its regulatory and community commitment plan objectives, working with the CA Director to track and report market level progress, and managing successful implementation of projects and initiatives that help achieve results including lending, investment, donations and volunteer engagement.
This position requires a credit check per 12 CFR Chapter X, Part 1026, Truth in Lending, Regulation Z.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
Subject matter expert in sourcing and developing community development opportunity within assigned territory. This would include residential lending, small business, investment and outreach programs and initiatives. Analyze opportunities to determine strategic fit with company's business goals and objectives.
Identify and develop business relationships in line with our community commitment and regulatory strategies that reach / impact our intended customers and communities. Provide technical assistance for bank staff on issues related to community development, investment and service. Maintain open communication with internal and external stakeholders in assigned territory, track and monitor Community Strategy Plan progress to ensure goal attainment. Review opportunities and related initiatives to determine alignment with Community Strategy objectives and quantifiable goals.
Develop and maintain effective outreach programs that identify affordable housing, Community Development Financial Institution, workforce development and other nonprofits addressing the needs of our intended customers and communities. Partner and strategize with the Director of Community Accountability in collecting and interpreting production and other data. Provide feedback and direction on key nonprofit stakeholder impact in define territory. Present key findings and implications on production, key market priorities and provide business recommendations.
Make community engagement recommendations and participate in nonprofit and government initiatives, committees, etc. to ensure Associated Bank is represented in the broader market as well as our intended communities. Represent the bank via various opportunities across the market including but not limited to board and council participation, conferences and other relevant meetings.
Provide reporting on various leading and lagging CRA, Multicultural and economic development indicators and their impact on the market's progress, such as call reports, progress updates. Summarize results in order to community the company's strategy and objectives both internally and externally to groups and non-on-one with key influencers.

Required
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Business, Finance, or Accounting
EXPERIENCE
Required
4-7 years Banking experience in community development or business development with prior experience in one or more of the key development segments (residential lending, small business or community lending)
2-4 years Prior experience in a role that required relationship management skills.
4-7 years Experience in presenting material to both large and small audiences
PREFERRED
2-4 years Experience in a proven track record of building relationships and coordinator the actions of key operating units across organization hierarchies.
