Position Overview
This Development Senior position is in the Development Factory Group in the Application Services Department of the Information Technology Division at Freddie Mac. This is an opportunity to join a fast-paced team that interacts will all areas of Freddie Mac’s business and provides excellent experience and knowledge across the IT spectrum. This team is responsible for ensuring that all of Freddie Mac’s applications are adequately supported and meet architectural standards. Our team is made up of talented individuals who thrive in a challenging work environment and enjoy the utilizing their problem-solving skills. The role will act in a lead on projects, providing guidance and oversight to project execution team. The position will also ensure alignment between project activities and accepted scope and negotiate with the business, vendors and other stakeholders on changes to scope. This role will own full end-to-end delivery of software products with either direct or indirectly managed team members of varying professional level.
Responsibilities include:
•Reviewing detailed estimates to ensure that they are reasonable and aligned to historical benchmarks where applicable
•Working with the team to identify opportunities for efficiency in project planning and execution to provide the business with solutions at the lowest cost while balancing risk appropriately
•Ensuring that all requirements/use cases (both functional and non-functional) are fully documented and incorporated into the project scope and development efforts
•Working with project teams and stakeholders to ensure that requirements gap or issues are resolved in a transparent and timely manner
•Providing guidance to the project team on high level design, ensuring that the design/solution is consistent with the approved architecture and aligned to the forward-looking technical direction/roadmap
•Engaging with Enterprise and Application architects to promote collaboration on the development of solution architecture; Reviewing architecture and ensuring alignment with accepted architectural principles and the strategic roadmap
•Ensuring that “Best Practices” for development activities (e.g. code reviews, unit testing, etc.) are followed through the project life-cycle
•Pro-actively managing project plans and statuses to rapidly mobilize resources to address risks and issues in the development space
•Collaboratively work with all other IT Teams to identify “Win/Win” opportunities and improve efficiency
•Demonstrating ownership of problems, issues, or requests from start to finish and facilitating appropriate handoffs
•Championing and influencing technology decisions with business partners, IT management and Team members on matters concerning multiple complex projects which requires the ability to negotiate while maintaining effective relationships
Qualifications
•At least 8-10 years of IT System management experience implementing software solutions with a proven ability to lead team, projects, and initiatives
•Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
•Provides solutions to complex issues in a limited amount of time and under limited direction
•Demonstrated ability to interact with various teams, both business and technical, to achieve goals
•Must be able to support multiple projects, initiatives, and daily activities concurrently
•Responsible for ensuring the final product meets customer's expectations
•Experience with software lifecycle processes in a highly regulated environment
•Experience with common middleware and database products
