Job Description
The Product Manager is responsible for leading, developing and executing the strategy for critical projects from conception to implementation. The candidate will primarily be responsible for our Ally Invest LIVE web application, including end-to-end production definition, design and launch using a variety of leading-edge development methodologies. This role works closely with the company's senior management, marketing, technology, and other product owners, along with various third-party partners, and is based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Job Responsibilities
• Actively partner with senior management to create product roadmaps that focus on optimization, innovation, and the client experience.
• Lead requirements gathering session with business partners. Work with cross-functional teams to identify key business requirements that address competitive differentiators, client usability, revenue generations, fulfillment and client service needs, risk mitigation, and overall customer satisfaction.
• Write and maintain detailed requirements that include defining the customer experience and identifying systems and processes that need to be enhanced. This includes the definition of use cases and user workflows.
• Work closely with design/usability teams to clearly define the user experience specifications.
• Prioritize and convert all requirements into viable user stories for Scrum methodology.
• Serve as a Product Owner for a dedicated scrum team. This includes prioritization of workload/user stories for current and future sprints for your team as well as working with Product Owners from cross-functional teams to insure that any dependencies are addressed. Product Owner is expected to provide guidance and clarification with any requirements/stories as required, and giving assistance with any impediment resolution.
• Define people/process changes so that any training materials and/or communications are adequate to prepare clients as well as internal teams for any new product introductions. Product owner may be required to deliver any communications or training.
• Work closely with technology and QA during the development cycle to ensure your products are developed, tested, and ultimately accepted/released to production.
• Partner with management/finance to define product and project metrics as well as conduct P&L and ROI analysis on all products.
• When applicable, work with and manage vendors that support or will support your products. This includes defining any deliverables from a contract perspective, driving vendor timelines that coincide with any project goals, and ongoing management of the vendor relationship.
• Be willing and able to work on projects of all sizes and importance.
• Conduct industry and competitive analysis and stay informed on new industry trends as well as regulatory guidance that may impact any changes to the customer experience or product offering.
Qualifications
• Must have worked in the financial services industry or have a working knowledge of the brokerage industry as well as knowledge of the online brokerage space as a whole. Deep understanding of equity and option markets.
• Proven experience in working in Agile/Scrum product development lifecycles.
• Creative individual who can be both strategic and tactical.Demonstrated experience in the product management of responsive design web applications.
• General understanding of website technologies.
• Experience leading design efforts and driving change and consensus across organizations.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
• Strong communicator who can effectively process constructive feedback while keeping the user and brand in mind. Must be able to present to senior level executives and business partners and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.Minimum BA/BS degree: Business, Finance, Computer Science degree preferred. FINRA licenses/certifications a plus (7, 63, 4, 24).
• All candidates must pass credit and criminal background checks to meet Ally Invest and FINRA requirements.
• Must have ability to work in a fast paced, cross-functional environment.
