What this job involves:
Being in the forefront
The Strategic Portfolio Manager is an integral part of the Consulting team and will serve as liaison for the client real estate team for strategic planning activities and deliverables. As a Strategic Portfolio Manager, you will develop overarching strategies related to portfolio optimization to govern the portfolio and set a foundation for master plans and individual asset strategies. This role is also expected to identify opportunities that drive strategic growth, organizational adjacencies and improved ROI in the Client portfolio, and prove these concepts through clear and articulate management-level reporting.
Having the know-how
You’ll need to have an extensive knowledge of Corporate Real Estate, Finance and Tech client business operations; most especially in strategy, consulting and advisory work. In this role, you will analyze inputs from the strategic planning process and on-account systems (business requirements, forecasts, utilization data, facility information, labor trends, cost, lease, and market data). Also, you will make recommendations with respect to strategic acquisitions, dispositions, investment and market opportunities, talent strategies, asset reviews, market studies and financial strategies.
Being a trailblazer and breaking new ground
You’ll act as a subject matter expert and support the Consulting knowledge management by providing aggressive leadership and oversight to the various functions involved in the portfolio planning processes to ensure decisions are made and progress is achieved. Also, you will need to stay abreast of current technology industry issues and trends through active participation in relevant industry forums and professional associations. You are expected to contribute as a key member of client facing teams to develop, implement, and manage execution of client engagements to ensure excellence, consistency and profitability. Moreover, you will work synergistically with other Consulting groups and Corporate Solutions service lines, performing quality control in terms of consistency in planning processes, procedures and protocols, as well as consistency in delivery of the strategy function.

Before you apply, it’s also worth knowing what we’re looking for:
A Bachelor’s degree is required preferable in Accounting, Finance, Business or undergraduate degree with strategy and quantitative coursework (Economics, Math, and Engineering); along with 8 to 10 years of related commercial real estate experience, with an emphasis on consulting and management work. Tech sector experience is helpful, but not a requirement. Experience in portfolio strategy, planning and financial analysis is highly valuable. Also, MBA, and/or advanced degree/certifications in related field is highly desirable.
Dynamic and skilled
You’ll need to be dynamic and inspired about portfolio strategy and strategic consulting. You will be successful if you have proven, strong consultative, presentation, and facilitation skills as well as exceptional client relationship management skills. This position requires someone who has persuasive oral presentation and group facilitation skills while having the ability to effectively promote and articulate concepts. You will need to be proficient in finance and accounting concepts as well as having a mature practical commercial experience including advanced financial acumen and analytical skills.
Organized and analytical
You keep on top of things as you’ll often need to reorganize your time day to day, to deal with your team’s changing necessities and requests. Strong teaming and collaboration skills including virtual collaboration with remote colleagues is very beneficial for this role. We may live and breathe systems, concepts and processes but you’ll be effective if you are able to interpret qualitative and quantitative research data and synthesize into meaningful and actionable results. Hence, you will need to learn to ask the right questions to understand the underlying needs of our clients and be entrepreneurial and able to self-perform in terms of prioritizing multiple tasks and managing time effectively.
Open and flexible
Excellent communication skills are important – both written and spoken – and we’ll expect you to work independently, multi-task, and manage your time to meet deadlines. An individual with strong interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with executive level external and internal clients will successful in the role. Most importantly, you’ll want to work as part of a diverse supportive and talented team. This position will need to be intellectually creative, curious and innovative to ensure we stay on top of cutting-edge tech sector trends.
