What is Operational Risk Management and Analysis?
The Operational Risk Management and Analysis (ORMA) team is a part of the Goldman Sachs Risk Division that manages risk in support of the firm’s strategic plans and risk appetite.
Our ORMA team is responsible for identifying, measuring and monitoring risk resulting from internal processes, people, and systems or from external events. Innovative solutions are developed in partnership across the firm to mitigate or transfer risk.
The financial sector faces a broad and constantly evolving spectrum of operational risks to analyze and manage, from digital interaction with customers, managing extended supply chains and automating core business processes. Working in partnership with personnel and divisions across Goldman Sachs, we are constantly enhancing our means of ensuring these risks are modeled, measured and managed firmwide.
Specialist Team
Provides specialist expertise on top operational risks and risk reduction for the firm
Insurance Management is the group that manages the insurance buying function for Goldman Sachs. Specifically, the group procures property/casualty and liability insurance on behalf of the firm and its various businesses globally. Its mission is to support active risk management across the firm with the goal of mapping the firm's exposure to risk transfer insurance products when it makes sense to do so from a coverage and cost standpoint. Candidates for this position must be versed in Risk Management and knowledgeable of the hazard and operational risks applicable to diversified financial institutions, investment companies, and other industry related concerns.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
Responsibilities:
• Assist departmental personnel with the collection and maintenance of data required for insurance programs
• Assist with due diligence by quoting premium for asset acquisitions
• Administer the placement of FEMA Flood insurance
• Manage Tax reporting, state fund administration and exposure reporting
• Administer a Risk Management database
Qualified Candidate's Experience Would Include:
• Experience in an analysis based environment
• Financial institution experience a plus
• Ability to collect and manipulate large amounts of data
• Experience with contract management and abstracting
• Experience with acquisitions and dispositions of assets and entity transactions
• Knowledge of invoicing and accounting systems
• Reporting experience
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Tableau and Database experience
