Job Description
Ameriprise – Edina, MN – an innovative and dynamic, private wealth advisory practice is seeking a fulltime (40 hours weekly) fully licensed Financial Planning Assistant to join their friendly, dynamic, fast paced team. Licenses include series 7 & 66, and MN life/health. This critical role includes assisting the financial advisor in managing client and financial planning related work flow and daily business operations with an emphasis on creating and delivering a unique client experience that defines and differentiates the practice.
The position completes tasks which allow the advisor(s) to focus more time and energy on client acquisition and deepening client relationships. The Planning Assistant supports many different tasks for which the practice is responsible and ties directly to the overall business plan of the practice. This position will consistently follow high standards of business and professional ethics and legal and regulatory requirements when dealing with others and/or performing work activities.

Salary: $45K-$50K based on experience
Responsibilities
This role manages the financial planning process through meeting preparation and follow up, client account maintenance, business paperwork processing/tracking, executing trades, conducting transaction requests, maintaining client management system, preparing reports and illustrations, client correspondence, assisting in business issue resolution, maintaining files and records in accordance with compliance and responding to ad hoc requests as needed.
Required Qualifications
• Successful candidates will be highly dependable, trustworthy, have exceptional writing, phone and interpersonal skills, attention to detail and accuracy, organized, self-motivated, be resilient and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Candidates need to also be proficient in Microsoft office including Excel, Word and Outlook, technology savvy/ability to work with online tools and applications to perform most job functions, able to handle multiple responsibilities and consistently follow high standards of business/professional ethics when dealing with others and performing work activities.
• A positive attitude and willingness to be flexible in daily activities is a must.
• Qualified candidates will have an associate’s degree or higher, 2 years of related experience, NASD/FINRA series 7, 66 as well as state life, accident and health licenses and a desire to grow and learn in the financial services industry.
