Description
The Commercial Portfolio Manager assists in the assessment of risk and management of the Bank’s commercial loan portfolio by providing analytical and credit oversight to the commercial market team/assigned Commercial Loan Officer(s). The Commercial Portfolio Manager will be responsible for the annual review, renewal, loan covenant compliance reviews and financial collection process concerning the bank’s commercial loan portfolio.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Evaluates pertinent information to determine risk rating and whether a prospect and/or existing credit is an acceptable risk
• Works with Commercial Loan Officer(s) prospects and clients answering questions needed for the loan underwriting
• Partners with Commercial Loan Officers in meeting with current and prospective clients to understand the specific customer requirements and needs; collects appropriate financial data and information to ensure an accurate risk assessment and thorough underwriting
• Assists in the pricing and structure of new loans and renewals with the Commercial Loan Officer(s)
• Makes individual client calls and visits as needed to gain a complete understanding of the financial analysis
• Prepares all required financial spreads, Credit Presentation Sheets, Loan Officer Narrative, Relationship Summary, and Loan Pricing Model and prepares packages for approval on all new and existing credits
• Monitors industry trends and analyze specific industry trend data to identify potential areas of risk in the loan portfolio
• Analyzes global cash flow for commercial and individual prospects, borrowers and guarantors to identify financial condition, profitability, repayment ability, operating trends, financial support of credit and other various financial indicators
• Ensures a 120 day renewal letter is sent to the customer identifying the key financial information needed in advance to process the renewal request
• Completes loan covenant compliance reviews and review findings with Commercial Loan Officer(s)
• Prepares forms for transfer of clients into Special Assets
• Maintains, tracks and clears financial exception reports
• Maintains, tracks and clears documentation exception reports
• Works with the loan assistant to clear exceptions
• Monitors and collects past due accounts
• Orders Appraisals and Phase I reports for real estate transactions
• Completes annual loan reviews on each credit with the assigned portfolio
• Completes and passes BVS courses by due date
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting or related business field from a four year college or university
• 5 years minimum experience in Loan Review, Credit Analysis, or Commercial Loans
• Consultative approach to business development
• Effective presentation skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Analytical by nature and sound business judgment
• Outstanding business development/relationship management skills as well as the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced, diverse growth environment
