Job Description
The Corporate Treasury Analyst is responsible for managing all proprietary investments and hedge strategies with the principal focus of balance sheet management. The Corporate Treasury Team resides within Corporate Finance overseeing all cash management, investments and banking relationships.
Principal Responsibilities:
• Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of hedge strategies used to mitigate risk associated with the corporate portfolio. This includes investments in a broad array of asset classes including domestic and foreign equity, fixed income, alternatives and FX.
• Perform quantitative analysis on investment portfolios consisting of data aggregation, regression analysis, scenario and sensitivity tests.
• Research new hedge instruments/strategies used to mitigate risk including a thorough analysis and recommendation.
• Work with traders and external counterparties on research, trade availability and costs driving efficient and effective strategies.
• Manage daily, monthly and quarterly investment/hedge reporting; ensuring that the reports are timely and accurate with an ability to communicate the details of the hedging program
• Work with 3rd party fund accounting/middle office department on trade entry, portfolio accounting and collateral management as well as daily brokerage reconciliations
• Act as liaison with Corporate Accounting for booking of investment and hedging transactions as well as month end mark-to-market bookings to the General Ledger
Qualifications
• 3-5 years of experience in Corporate Treasury, Finance or related field
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills. The candidate must be able to quickly grasp new concepts in order to deliver timely solutions.
• Strong quantitative skills – knowledge of Regression Analysis, VaR, measures of variance, etc.
• Thorough understanding of financial markets (equity, fixed income, alternatives and foreign exchange)
• Knowledge of investment accounting a plus
• Proficient to advanced knowledge in Excel
• Self-directed and able to work independently
• Be able to work under tight deadlines when required or requested by management
• Attention to detail to ensure that items are followed through to completion
• Outstanding communication ability, both oral and written
• Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics or other quantitative field. Progress towards CFA or advanced degree strongly preferred
• This role can be located in either our Denver or NY offices
