Department Profile:
The Corporate Communications team facilitates Morgan Stanley's communications with media audiences and with employees. For the firm as a whole and also for individual business units, it brings experience and consistency to our relationship with the press and our dialogue with employees. Its goal is to promote Morgan Stanley's strengths and to build and maintain the firm's reputation. Corporate Communications issues press releases for the firm and its business units and helps provide Morgan Stanley spokespeople with access to the media. It may also advise clients during sensitive, high-profile transactions.
Position Summary:
The Internal Communications Vice President will serve as the strategy lead for guiding and managing our editorial strategy, channel strategy, programming and measurement for internal communications and engagement at Morgan Stanley. The role involves collaborating with colleagues to evolve our internal digital social communications program as well as helping to drive integrated internal communications planning and execution, which includes consulting internal clients and generating a variety of communications for employee audiences. The Vice President will work closely with colleagues in Corporate Affairs, Marketing, Technology and Human Resources, as well as business unit clients and senior management.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Communications
-Devise and oversee the intranet editorial and measurement strategy in support of our business and communications objectives
-Provide strategic communications planning and execution support for engaging and communicating with internal audiences across the Firm.
-Prepare content for Morgan Stanley’s intranet/social collaboration site and other formats, covering business, events and Firmwide initiatives.
-Support publishing content using the intranet site’s content management system; review formatting, visuals, tone, structure
-Manage special projects, as needed, including senior management events and Business Continuity Management communications.
-Oversee the design and development of an intranet architecture and integration with other platforms, including social, mobile and video.
-Assist with designing and implementing leadership engagement events and forums.
Assist with the ongoing assessment and measurement of our internal communications programs.
Qualifications
Skills Required:
-At least six years of strategic communications experience – preferably with experience in the financial services sector.
-Demonstrate a proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to balance a workload of multiple assignments for various parties in a fast-paced environment.
-Ability to write under tight deadlines with minimal oversight or editing, be a quick study of complex situations, and have an excellent eye for both detail and nuance.
-Versatile in communicating across different formats for a variety of audiences, with an ability to capture the “voice” of Morgan Stanley’s corporate communications and key executives.
-Knowledge of graphic design, analytics and expertise in social collaboration platforms, such as Jive and/or internal digital platform management is highly desired.
