DIRECT FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Credit Training, Credit Analysis, Credit Policy, Risk Rating, Allowance
SUMMARY:
Works with bank CEOs to achieve high credit quality via the loan approval process
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• College degree or equivalent
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in a regulatory or commercial lending background with at least 5 years in commercial lending
• Extensive supervisory and managerial experience
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Participate and complete all required compliance training, including Bank Secrecy Act/anti-money laundering training, as well as internal and external training programs, online training, meetings, and seminars/conferences, etc.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Work with CEOs and Regional Credit Managers to promote the credit culture of United Community Bank
• Protect the assets of the bank through the proper execution and administration of risk management policies and procedures. Assumes accountability for quality approval decisions and the overall quality of the assigned loan portfolio.
• Oversee the credit training function to ensure appropriate credit training is available to promote the culture and process of commercial lending at UCB
• Oversees and coordinates the ongoing maintenance of credit policy. Recommends approval of changes in underwriting and policies.
• Oversees the development and implementation of a commercial loan origination system and the ongoing maintenance of that system
• Develop a risk rating system and policy and implementation of that system
• Direct and assist in the preparation of each bank for regulatory examinations. Work directly with bank regulators during the examination process.
• Coordinate credit portion of due diligence efforts with regard to new bank acquisitions
• Work as a member of the Allowance committee and coordinate the allowance efforts with the risk analytics team
• Perform annual performance reviews along with an effective management plan consisting of goals for staff
• Perform other duties as assigned
