Major Responsibilities:
• Responsible for leading project management of critical projects or leads in cross-functional projects with large impact to the foundation or the enterprise.
• Providing comprehensive analysis direction for multiple concurrent mission critical projects.
• May manage multiple projects or other projects as assigned. Monitoring, tracking and improving ongoing grants and initiatives, including evaluating and reporting to executives and business lines, advocates and community partners
• Representing, as necessary, the Foundation publicly regarding program direction, program funding, and grant making results.
• Working closely with partners and business line leaders and facilitating collaboration to build brand, business, and community impact.
• Partnering with and managing external vendors as necessary
• Establishing relationships and executing programs with business partners to develop and enhance the sustainability of the Foundation’s internal practices
• Planning and executing event engagements
• Ensuring that processes and systems support efficient and effective philanthropic management Maintaining and sharing knowledge on current trends, emerging issues, policy interventions, and innovations in banking generally and corporate philanthropy specifically to enhance the effectiveness of MUFG Union Bank strategy and initiatives
Qualifications
Education, Licensure, Year of Experience (and type of work experience):
• BA or BS degree plus a strong record of achievement and relevant experience in the nonprofit, public, or private sector.
• Interdisciplinary experience favored.
• 8+ years of experience in a corporate or non-profit setting, preferably in the finance industry, with a minimum of 3+ years as a project manager with strong strategic management and planning expertise.
• Requires solid understanding and planning skills in all aspects of the project management.
• Demonstrated track record of delivering positive results in project work, including high quality implementations, cost savings within time and budgetary constraints.
• Must possess the highest level of technical skills and expertise.
• Ability to set and develop strategic goals and techniques for a project and effectively communicate this to all relevant stakeholders and collaborators.
• Proven ability to reach an audience through effective and clear presentations, writing skills and excellent communication strategies.
• Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, and planning skills.
• Outstanding communication (speaking and writing), interpersonal, organizational, language and computer skills.
• Energetic, flexible, self-starting team player with a direct, honest, and respectful approach to problem solving, and ability to foster collaboration and contribute to a strong sense of community among the Corporate Social Responsibility and business partners
• Must thrive when working under deadlines, have strong project, time, and budget management skills, and be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously without sacrificing attention to detail.
• A willingness to share in both "big picture" thinking and administrative tasks.
• A respect for and sensitivity to working with diverse communities across race, class, ethnic, political and geographic boundaries.
Additional Information:
• Eight to ten years banking experience as project manager with strong strategic management and planning expertise.
• Requires solid understanding and planning skills in all aspects of the system's/business project life-cycle, i.e., enhancements, user requirements, application configuration and usage using MS Project as the projectplanning tool.
• Demonstrated track record of delivering positive results in project work, including high quality implementations, cost savings, additional revenue, within time and budgetary constraints.
• Requires the ability to identify excessive cycle time and/or costs and develop alternative courses of action associated with the project's life-cycle.
• Must possess the highest level of technical skills and expertise.
• Must be fully conversant on issues and current trends as they relate to the banking industry's products and services.
• Aptitude to prioritize and analyze a list of measurable product or service characteristics along with associated target values.
• Ability to set and develop strategic goals and techniques for a project and effectively communicate this to all project team members.
• Proven ability to reach an audience through effective and clear presentations, writing skills and excellent communication strategies.
