Summary of This Role
We are looking for a Director, Product Management, with a focus on UI/UX design, who is passionate about building products that customers love and has a passion for the customer experience. You will join a dynamic and fast-paced environment and work with cross-functional teams to design, build and roll-out products that deliver the company’s vision and strategy. The Director-Product Management (UI/UX Designer) should exhibit mastery of core skills such as user experience research, project/feature requirements synthesis, design conceptualization, wire framing, visual design, and experience audits.
What Part Will You Play?
• Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards
• Work with product owners to create overall design vision and design direction that will guide detailed designs as they emerge
• Collaborate with product owners and developers to define and implement innovative solutions for the product, enhancing the user experience
• Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with product owners and developers, focusing on UI/UX
• Adhere to style standards on fonts, colors and images
• Translate requirements into wireframes and mockups that enhance the usability and functionality of the application and lead to intuitive user experiences
• Create wireframes, prototypes, storyboards, user flows, etc. to be used in functional specs and demoing to users and management teams
• Find creative ways to solve UX problems (e.g. usability, findability)
• Communicate design ideas and prototypes to developers
• Collect and analyze feedback from customers, key stakeholders and other team members to shape UI/UX features, requirements and end products
• Conduct user research and evaluate user feedback
• Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders
What Are We Looking For in This Role?
• Demonstrable experience using wireframe/prototype tools (e.g. Wireframe.cc, InVision, Bootstrap Studio)
• Up-to-date with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies
• Artistic eye for design, user interaction, functionality, and readability
• Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction
• Ability to present designs and sell solutions to various stakeholders
• Good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple activities and objectives efficiently
• Ability to work with customers and vendors at both a business and technical level
• A unique blend of business and technical savvy, a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality
• Excellent analytical, communication, presentation and negotiation skills with cross-functional teams, customers and management
• Strong initiative and vision for continuous improvement
• Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively
• Comfortable working with multiple teams, in-house and remote
• Ability to work independently and as an active member of a team
• Team player who is willing to learn from and share knowledge and experience with other team members
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Communication Design, Interaction Design, or a related field
• 3-5 years proven experience as a UX Designer, UI Designer or similar role
• 7+ years Product Management experience
• Hands-on experience creating wireframes, prototypes, storyboards, user flows
• Proven experience guiding/supporting initiatives from concept through project execution, including IA / wireframes, prototypes, user journeys, process flows, and final designs
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
• Understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices
• Experience conducting UX-related research, including stakeholder and user interviews
