What You'll Do/Need
The Category Leader for Facilitiesassists with shaping procurement strategy across the Quicken Loans Family of Companies and leads a key, high-value strategic spend category. As a result, this team member is responsible for delivering value within the defined strategic category and contributing significantly toward cost reduction and cost avoidance targets. The Category Leader for Facilities leads the Category Manager(s) and Category Specialists. As a member of the Procurement Senior Leadership Team, this person takes collective responsibility for company performance, supporting colleagues and shaping decisions on general business issues. The process of collaboration and the timely sharing of business-critical data with the Director of Procurement and the senior business leaders is critical to success and full alignment with the wider business goals and objectives.
Responsibilities
• Maintain an expert level of knowledge of all Category Manager primary responsibilities, duties and requirements as well as deep multi-category and market insight with a quality philosophy
• Lead and develop team(s) and manage end-to-end sourcing strategies within a broad category of spend to drive maximum value and category performance internally and against industry standards
• Create a clear vision for team(s) and align/build collaborative partnership relationships with Procurement colleagues, key strategic vendors and team members within a continuous improvement culture
• Identify and nurture vendor relationships and develop strategies, contracts and relationships appropriately and in line with the vendor relationship management process to deliver a medium- to long-term quality, sustainable and optimized commercial relationship with a partnership approach
• Partner with team leaders, team captains and team members to identify areas for potential sourcing/consolidation efforts to drive cost reduction opportunities and accomplish results by communicating and delivering on expectations
• Conduct interviews; handle annual performance reviews; identify and set specific, measurable goals for team members; and make salary and bonus recommendations while promoting a culture of teamwork and open communication through team and individual meetings
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices and participating in professional societies
• Monitor industry issues and communicate to the team and senior leadership as appropriate
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, finance or a related area
• Seven years of experience in procurement, sourcing and supply chain management (including technical competencies, where appropriate), ideally in a regional/multinational/global organization
• Five years of leading, managing and working within cross-category private and public/government sector environments
• Five years of experience of leadership and people management in a regional, multinational or global organization
• Demonstrable multi-category knowledge of procurement, sourcing, category management, vendor relationship management, customer relationship management and supply chain management processes and procedures, including deep commercial and contractual experience
• Experience with change management (leading and managing change from tactical phases through to strategic phases of the procurement cycle)
