The Compliance Analyst is responsible for planning, performing, and tracking reviews of multiple lines of business within the Bank as part of the Compliance Monitoring Program (CMP). As part of the CMP process, the Analyst will also identify and analyze new or changing regulatory and legal developments, help develop CMP priorities, and communicate reviews and results with business owners and senior management.

Key responsibilities include:
• Develop Compliance Risk Assessments (CRAs) and annual plans to organize and prioritize testing topics for the Investment Management line of business within the Bank
• Conduct compliance testing in accordance with the annual plans as well as on an ad hoc basis; testing will incorporate elements of legal research as well as forensic analysis of data and workflows
• Synthesize results of testing in written reports to Compliance and management
• Maintain complete and accurate records of compliance testing in the appropriate databases and programs, and regularly communicate the status of testing topics to Compliance and management
• Track action items arising out of CMP; identify trends in regulatory or business risks
• Drive efficiencies in the planning and execution of compliance testing
• Contribute to the review and updating of policies and procedures based on the results of Compliance testing
Qualifications:
• Bachelors' degree and 2-3 years of experience, or J.D. and 1-2 years of experience
• Experience in banking compliance, audit, or legal roles preferred
• Functional understanding of financial services and banking industries, particularly requirements and expectations of regulators such as SEC, NYSDFS, FINRA, OCC, and/or CFTC
• Experience preparing or performing audit functions preferred, including sampling, transactional testing, and validation
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks based on balancing business need and regulatory requirements
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to distill complex processes or problems to actionable items
• Proactive approach to tasks and assignments with an ability to work independently as necessary
