Duties and Responsibilities
The Personal Banker I is expected to learn and successfully accomplish the necessary skills to progress to the Personal Banker II within 6 - 12 months.
The primary function is to accurately process standard branch transactions including but not limited to: check cashing, deposits, consigned items, savings bonds, loan payments, opening basic accounts and servicing accounts. Expected to process customer maintenance transactions such as: address changes, check orders, CIS maintenance, ATM processing, branch open/close procedures, foreign currency, judicial issues, deceased notification while increasing knowledge and skills to handle more time consuming and complicated customer account maintenance actions and transactions. The PB I is expected to provide ¿the unparalleled customer experience¿ in all customer interactions to include a high standard of efficiency, accuracy, service, and consistency.
Expected to increase knowledge and performance regarding branch activities in the areas of: compliance, audit, operations and security and follow all bank policies and procedures.
Proactively partner and refer to appropriate internal partners to include: Small Business Officers, Mortgage Officers, Private Wealth Management, and Commercial partners to increase customer satisfaction and branch results.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
• HS Diploma or equivalent
-1 year previous customer service, cash handling or retail experience
Preferred Requirements
-2+ years previous customer service, teller or retail experience
• Teller experience or minimum of 6 months TS experience (or equivalent) for internal UMB associates
Minimum Knowledge and Skills
-Basic math and accounting skills
-Strong verbal and written communications skills
-Ability to operate general office equipment, such as: telephone, fax machine, copying machine, currency counter, 10 key adding machine, etc
-Knowledge of debits and credits
-Demonstrates good work habits, attendance and follows policies and procedures
-Proven organizational and time management skills
Preferred Knowledge and Skills
-Proven customer experience skills dealing with the public
-Skills in building collaborative relationships across departments and teams
-Knowledge of banking products, systems, policies/procedures and regulations
Work Schedule
M-F: 9am-6pm, Sat 9am-noon
