Job Description
Portfolio Strategy manages programs, models and technologies that optimize the performance of whole loan and servicing portfolios totaling over $250 billion in UPB, and growing. To achieve its goals, Portfolio Strategy develops financial models, interprets investor and agency guidelines with regard to mortgage lending and loss mitigation and creates loan programs and decision engines to implement and execute its strategies.
The Senior Analyst is responsible for implementation and execution of model governance requirements for Portfolio Strategy.
Job Responsibilities:
Position supports model risk management by evaluating, validating and monitoring model assumptions, methodologies and performance. Position partners with model owners and developers and works closely with model users and Corporate Model Governance Team.
Model Validation & Performance Oversight:
• Tests and supports maintenance of various Portfolio Strategy models
• Analyzes input and assumption data
• Analyzes model methodologies and logic
• Tracks and Monitors model performance
• Reviews and analyzes model code, development documentation and user guides
Analysis:
• Analyzes model results. This includes evaluating decision engine results and prescribing possible enhancements to rules or assumptions based on current data or investor requirements.
Reporting:
• From time to time, responsible for various recurring, and non-recurring, reports that require knowledge of MS Excel, SQL database.
Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate with have the following skills, abilities and qualifications:
• Advanced degree in Mathematics, Financial Engineering, Business, Economics, Statistics, Computational Finance or related quantitative field such as physics or engineering
• 1 Year or less analyst experience in the financial industry. Mortgage or fixed income highly preferred.
• Experience with system testing, QC and model validation preferred
• Highly proficient in MS Excel and in manipulating large data sets. Experience with MS VB, SQL , or R programming is a plus
• Excellent communications skills, both oral and written are essential
• Ability to draft validation reports containing/explaining the analysis performed and test results using company templates
• Team player who can excel in a challenging work environment with a strong desire to learn new things and the ability to adapt to a changing environment.
