Job Description Summary
Assumes the role of performance consultant within the retirement plans line of business. Conducts expert or advanced level training classes and programs based on the trainer's extensive, in depth knowledge. Training may be applied across distribution channels, regions and company boundaries. May act as a resource or subject matter expert to other trainers and specialists for the design of training programs or projects. Responsible for developing, organizing and conducting professional development training & educational programs in support of new employee programs, on the job training, refresher training, and professional development. Creates and updates training process and procedure documents for the business areas supported. Maintains records for training activities, employee progress and effectiveness of programs. Creates and delivers executive level reporting that highlights learner satisfaction, behavioral change, business impact and return on training investment.
• Recommends, develops, designs, and delivers performance improvement and training solutions.
• Implements training programs in accordance with business unit strategies.
• Applies adult learning principles and knowledge of group dynamics to deliver best-in-class learning solutions.
• May lead blended, web-based, virtual, and distance learning programs.
• Maintains records of and creates reporting for training activities, employee progress and effectiveness of programs.
• Identities and coordinates resources to enhance the quality of training programs.
• Develops training programs utilizing on-line training tools and other technical training resources.
• Builds and conducts training programs utilizing sound adult learning theory and instructional design concepts that include workbooks and/or participant guides.
• Mentors others on attained functional skills.
• Performs assigned tasks working independently.
• Develops and administers training programs related to other duties and special projects as assigned.
• Successfully completes other duties as assigned based on organizational needs.
• Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction, and all safety rules.
• Exhibits regular, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 8 years professional/leadership development experience.
• Understands the retirement plans market and is familiar with ERISA rules.
• Possesses and applies technical skills to principles, practices and procedures of particular field of specialization.
• Training experience in Financial Services or other related business background. Obtainment of NASD Series 6/63 equivalency/license may be required.
Preferred qualifications
• Master’s Degree in Organizational Development or other training related course work.
• Professional training certifications in sales, leadership, performance consulting, coaching, instructional design and/or adult learning.
• Direct sales and/or wholesaling experience helpful. Professional designations including CFP, QKA/QPA, ChFC, CFA preferred.
• Familiarity with ERISA, LOMA, FINRA, ATD, etc. is also helpful.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, customer service and motivational skills with the ability to work on a team as well as independently.
• Creativity and strong organization skills to handle multiple tasks at one time.
