Global Mobility Tax Manager – Human Capital Services
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Global Mobility Services Manager is responsible for the delivery of a full range of human capital and global mobility tax services for multiple clients in a wide variety of industries. Responsibilities include interacting closely with clients to provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise for a global workforce; developing and managing staff; working closely with partners from all service lines on client management, practice development and business development activities; and formulating and delivering innovative cross border tax planning and savings strategies for a multinational workforce.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Oversee the efforts of multiple client services teams on client engagements; plan, execute, direct, and complete global mobility and human capital projects in a wide variety of industries; provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise to clients with multi-national workforce; market, sell, design, and implement tax-planning strategies for both corporate and individual clients and manage to budget.
• Oversee the delivery of a full range of international tax services and advise U.S. and foreign based multinational companies on the tax implications of their global workforce as well as coordinating U.S. and foreign tax laws to develop an optimal global mobility strategy.
• Consult with clients on tax-efficient structuring of international assignments, effective use of tax treaties, minimize worldwide tax burdens of business travelers, and manage risk associated with a global workforce for midmarket companies.
• Consult with clients on compensation and benefit issues at both the domestic and international level. Coordinate services with other human capital services team members when needed.
• Candidate should be familiar with individual income tax issues and tax law including foreign national, expatriate, state and local issues; foreign tax compliance; and the tax equalization/protection process.
• Manage, develop, train, and mentor staff and assess their performance.
• Conduct primary and secondary review of complicated or complex US individual tax returns; coordinate global tax compliance services for clients.
• Facilitate client understanding of international tax implications of a mobile workforce.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience:
Licensed CPA, Attorney or Enrolled Agent designation required.
A minimum of three years of progressive tax consulting experience, preferably with at least two years focused on global mobility services. Experience with a Big 4 firm, law firm, or large corporate global mobility department of a multinational company.
Superior analytical, technical, and tax accounting/technology skills with proficiency in individual tax consulting and compliance. Experience with inbound and outbound employee relocation consulting. Ability to effectively communicate cross border tax concepts to clients who are not tax specialists.
Demonstrated experience in practice development, business development, and managing seniors and staff.
Computer expertise including knowledge of tax software and technology
