Responsibilities
The acquisition of new and expanded existing business relationships in addition to business owner’s personal banking opportunities and their employees. This will be accomplished by a targeted and concentrated calling program around a defined geographic territory of their assigned branch or branches. In addition to individual business development, this position will work closely with the designated branch manager(s) and group manager in developing and executing strategies to maximize local small business market share.
Sales Solicitation/COI’s
• Call on assigned small business customers to meet meet/exceed defined sales goals
• Use predefined sales tactics/strategies to execute sales plan
• Establish/Manage a referral network (CPA’s, Attorneys, RE, Insurance) of COI’s
• Cross-sell other business services (Merchant Services, Investments, Treasury Services)
• Work with Branch to focus on the personal accounts of small business owners/employees
Additional for Specialist II, III
• Guide the junior officers on small business lending
• Provides financial advice and counsel to customers and prospects relating to credit structure and situations relating to new and existing businesses
Branch Support
• Develop with the Branch/Group Manager targeted solicitation strategies and tactics
• Implement promotional strategies with Marketing support to expand and deepen our small business image in the local market
• Develop and implement sales contests within branch
• Facilitate product and sales small business training courses to all designated retail bankers
• Provide assistance with delinquencies, documentation exceptions, and renewals
• Ongoing support to designated branches in terms of business development, ensuring understanding of credit decisions, and assisting with loan closings; Specialist II support to designated branches in terms of sales calls, ensuring understanding of credit decisions and loan documents; Specialist III support to designated branches in terms of business development to exceed branch goals, ensuring understanding of credit decisions, and assisting with difficult loan closings.
• Specialist II implements sales contests between branches and regions
• Specialist III develops and implement sales contests between branches and regions
Skills
Strong sales aptitude; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Self-starter with strong organizational skills; PC skills, word processing, and E-mail; Critical thinking skills; Thorough understanding of loan documents and closing a commercial loan
The applicant should have a willingness to become involved in community activities.
Education/Experience
A Bachelors Degree in Finance, Business or Related field is required.
1-3 yrs Business Lending or outsides sales experience
