Position Overview
Freddie Mac’s Single Family Division is currently seeking a Risk Analytics Manager to manage the Single-Family Data Mart - Credit Analytics and Reporting application.
Responsibilities include:
• Manage SFDM/ Data Warehouse projects/releases (Scope, Business rules, data model design, report metrics, business UAT testing). This is a hands-on role including data analysis, defining business rules logic and performing UAT testing.
• Gather business requirements from stakeholders and assist in documenting the requirements for IT implementation.
• Manage CAR data projects – Manages the implementation of new data consumption capabilities to meet CAR business needs in conjunction with Business Owner, Governance, Operations, and IT teams.
• Mentor and train staff in data warehouse/data mart/BI tools and technologies.
• Ensures requests for new modeling, analytic, dashboarding, and reporting capabilities are addressed in an efficient and effective manner.
• Develops and maintains a data consumption strategy inclusive of a multi-year roadmap.
• Leads large, strategic, cross-disciplinary business change efforts, often among members of a project team.
• Owns one or more processes, reports, procedures or products, and may also be considered analytical or procedural "experts" representing a unit or team on cross-function process or project deliverables.
• Perform hands on analysis to respond to business questions.
• Perform POCs to assess new technologies/capabilities
• Provide timely, relevant, robust analysis to support credit-related business decisions
• Hands on experience manipulating and analyzing large datasets (Structured and Unstructured data) using SAS/SQL or other tools such as ETL/Big Data Tools
• Often must lead a cooperative effort among members of a project team comprised of IT and Business
• Must be able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Plan and manage resources to meet schedules and goals
• Responsible for SFDM-CAR application performance assessments, Service Level Agreements and production support activities
• CAR liaison for the SFDM BUG meetings, release planning and infrastructure projects.
Qualifications
• Degree in Statistics, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field with 8-10 years related experience, or commensurate industry experience
• 8+ years of data analysis experience, with a combination of business and technical skills
• Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Strong leadership aptitude and ability to engage others in developing risk management capabilities
• 8+ years of hands on data warehouse /data mart experience designing large data marts/data warehouses and 2+ years of team management experience.
• Excellent communication skills (Verbal and Written)
• Hands on experience with ETL function (structured and unstructured data) (Responsibilities should be within the last 6-12 months) or similar experience with BI tools for DW/DM
• Strong SQL or SAS programming experience
• Project Management and People Management experience
• Manage Business UAT testing
Preferred Skills
• Mortgage industry experience or financial / credit analysis
• Familiarity with CDW/SFDM – FMAC systems
• 1 + years of building data lakes on Big Data/Hadoop platform
• Experience working with JSON, XML and unstructured data processing
• Experience with columnar databases
• Hands on experience with one or more BI tools – Microstrategy, Tableau, Power BI
