Overview
We’re looking for an analyst with an interest in bridging their technical skills and interest in finance to review and reconcile technology focused invoices and analyze those expenses against current technology contracts. We’re looking for a proactive thinker, an individual who wants to dive deeply to understand the content of the invoices they’re reviewing, what they mean to our business, how best to allocate the expenses incurred, and who has a strong interest in conducting analysis around the importance of incurring that expense.
Joining us in this role, you’ll have the opportunity to develop and provide this insight to the technical teams you’re working with directly, leveraging technical tools like SQL and Advanced Excel. And if you don’t have this technical know-how yet, you’ll have the chance to learn these skills, along with scripting (Python) and related analytical tools to help you take in and work with large, complex data sets.
Your day to day on our team could include:
• Matching and reconciling invoiced expenses related to networking, market data and telecommunications usage across the firm
• Identifying and resolving discrepancies or issues between our internal teams and vendors, working actively with both to ensure that all invoices match contract terms
• Partnering with Accounting to track spending and reconcile those expenses to the general ledger as well as support annual audits
• Collaborating with Procurement to set up, process, manage and track invoices and expenses for new vendors being utilized across the firm
• Bringing ideas forward to help drive innovation surrounding our expense processing and financial reporting processes, focusing on identifying cost reduction and overall process improvement opportunities
What we're looking for
• Experience working in a financial analysis, expense management, or related role a plus
• Demonstrated knowledge of MS Excel; experience with advanced functions within Excel a plus
• Bachelor's degree required, focus in Mathematics, Finance or a related discipline preferred
