Job Description
The professional service industry is evolving at a rapid rate; the convergence of software and services is changing the way that professional services are sold, bought and delivered. PwC has invested in a number of knowledge assets that both enable and require new pricing models. This Strategic Pricing role will help PwC to appropriately value, price and monetize new services, products and solutions.
This is a critical role in the building of a best-in-class pricing function that will propel the firm’s commercial strategy forward.
We are growing a Strategic Pricing team to assess, redesign and implement PwC’s go-forward pricing strategy, working with leadership to drive accelerated revenue and continued profitable growth. This team will provide breadth across financial and operational disciplines, and a passion for pricing and the impact it can have on driving strategic topline and bottomline revenue growth. This highly-visible team will collaborate with firm leadership across all markets and national practices.
Position/Program Requirements
Minimum Year(s) of Experience: 8 with 5+ years focused in a pricing capacity.
Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's degree
Certification(s) Required: CPA, Active Member of the Bar, Enrolled Agent, OR, Certified Pricing Professional (CPP).
Degree Preferred: Master's degree in Business Administration or Master of Science in Engineering (MSE).
Certification(s) Preferred: Certified Pricing Professional (CPP).
Knowledge Preferred:
Demonstrates thought leader-level knowledge with, and/or a proven record of success directing efforts in the following areas:
• Developing, implementing, and executing pricing strategies and tactics;
• Developing insights into pricing models for the Professional Services industry and also into alternative fee structures;
• Leading, cross-industry pricing practices; and,
• Demonstrating proven ability in analytical skills, including experience developing analytical and modeling tools.
Skills Preferred:
Demonstrates thought leader-level abilities with, and/or a proven record of success directing efforts in the following areas:
• Building and mentoring a world-class pricing team that can scale with the organization;
• Translating pricing strategy into actionable tactics and sustainable processes, including the related change management;
• Understanding and influencing the go-to-market strategy from revenue management to the overall pricing strategy;
• Developing and implementing a pricing framework for evaluating and applying alternative pricing structures, models and mechanisms across the organization (i.e., partners and staff);
• Developing coordinated and consistent value-based pricing strategies for all relevant products and services;
• Developing a data-rich model with PwC’s salesforce and partner group to enable strong analysis of customers’ buying behaviors; and,
• Developing business case proposals for pricing and re-pricing strategies; working closely with regional and national leaders, marketing, sales and finance to collect and analyze data, and agree on business case assumptions (including customer use cases).
