Financial Analyst
Job Description:
The Blackstone Innovations team is seeking a highly-motivated self-starter to join their Technology Finance team. The candidate will assist in the design and build-out of new financial reporting and analytics tools, including management reporting. This role will also be responsible to develop the annual operating budget, forecasts, ongoing variance and impact analyses, and management of the cost allocation process.
Responsibilities:
• Own the annual budgeting, monthly forecasting and quarterly business review processes
• Communicate financial results and forecasts to key technology stakeholders and line of business leadership
• Produce monthly management reports, including resource (employee/consultants) counts/costs, variance analysis, trend analysis/forecasting and cost tracking by project
• Recommend opportunities to improve or streamline existing processes and reporting
• Ensure quarterly allocations to the business are analyzed, and review and resolve any issues
• Effectively juggle and prioritize multiple deliverables and client requests among competing initiatives, along with the ability to balance client demands with strict time constraints
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration with 5 to 7 years of experience
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Knowledge of Essbase and Anaplan would be a plus
• Financial background working in a technology environment is preferred, but not required
• Attention to detail is critical to the success of this candidate (must self-check work to ensure accuracy)
• Creativity and ability to think “out of the box”
• Team player, who is easy to work with, shows commitment and dedication, and can maintain both a positive attitude and high level of performance on high demand/time-sensitive initiatives
• Self starter, confident, and able to work in groups or alone; Lead/influence resources that are not direct reports into role
