Job Description
Responsible for the overall activities of the Card Personalization Department at our Processing Center. Oversees FTEs, including onsite vendor support and managing a budget of $25M - $60M.
The role develops and maintains strategies to achieve business performance goals, achieve world class customer experience, and increase profitability.
Responsible for annual business planning, budget planning and continuity for the Department and assisting with strategic planning.
Manages Business Operations and Achieves Results:
• Achieve business results through strategic planning, establishing and monitoring performance metrics, managing profits and losses, controlling expenses and managing costs.
• Leverage understanding of internal business operations and best practices in order to manage Department successfully and meet broader business performance goals.
• Align Department goals and objectives with broader Company goals and articulates for staff, in a straightforward and uncomplicated manner, how their efforts support overall objectives.
• Support larger Company initiatives/decisions, and guides staff in new direction as initiatives/decisions take precedence.
• Holds self and others accountable for achieving results.
• Manage losses and inherent risks to customers and the Company.
• Ensure business continuity, and engages in contingency planning.
• Make business decisions efficiently and communicates decisions to staff in a timely manner.
• Analyze critical functions within the Department, and creates and implements changes.
• Act as a change agent, proactively addressing changes and helping Department adjust and respond to changes.
• Build partnerships and works collaboratively cross-functionally to address issues, share knowledge and best practices, and implement changes.
• Facilitate and lead team and department meetings to communicate business and Department goals and objectives, and address business issues.
• Develop and maintain relationships with external vendors to improve products and processes.
• Ensure compliance to federal, state, and company regulations, as well as company service level and productivity standards.
• Promote a risk-aware culture, ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes
Support Overall Talent Management:
• Participate in, and/or provides input to, Department/Center talent management initiatives.
• Work with others in the Department/Center to identify and develop high potential employees.
• Provide high potential employees with appropriate developmental opportunities, e.g., formal and informal training, new role, “stretch” assignments, special projects, etc.
• Direct and oversee coaching and development within the Department.
• Mentor and develop direct reports to improve people and operational management skills, and increase leadership effectiveness.
• Provide coaching and guidance, sharing experience, expertise and knowledge.
• Provide ongoing and scheduled feedback on job performance.
• Serves as a mentor to, and benchmarks with, peers to share knowledge and successful practices.
Drive and Support Strategic Initiatives:
• Simultaneously thinks tactically and strategically.
• Leverage understanding of the business, industry and the competitive environment to form strategic plans.
• Work with other functions and across business units to discuss strategic initiatives.
• Develop long-range strategic plans and objectives to impact business results and executes strategic plan.
• Analyze Department reports and external information in order to identify strategic opportunities.
• Act quickly and decisively when strategic opportunities present themselves, engaging key stakeholders at appropriate time to gain support.
• Develop new operational strategies to create a competitive advantage for the Company.
• Develop innovative ideas on potential business opportunities to share with senior leaders.
Skills
5+ years Experience in Manufacturing Management/People Management Required
• Experience in Credit Card/Plastic Manufacturing preferred
• Experience in Vendor Management preferred
• Experience in Inventory Management preferred
• 8+ years Experience in Manufacturing Management/People Management preferred
