Position Summary
As a Tax Senior in MBAF’s Private Client Services group, your primary responsibility will be to deliver a full range of tax services for high net worth individuals. You will interact closely with clients to provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise. In addition, you will provide primary and secondary review of complex tax returns and develop and manage staff. As a Tax Senior you will work with senior management and staff on client management, practice development, and business development activities.
Responsibilities
• Analyze and prepare complex tax return forms for individuals, partnerships, pass-through entities, and corporations.
• Ensure tax adjustments are made to financial information for preparation of tax returns.
• Demonstrate extensive technical skills with tax compliance assignments for partnerships, S-corporations, trusts, and individual tax clients working proficiently with specific tax forms.
• Ensure compliance with appropriate state, federal and international tax jurisdictions.
• Review tax filings for timely submission.
• Supervise, train, and mentor staff and interns on tax processes.
• Develop good working relationships with clients to enhance customer satisfaction and work with client management and staff at all levels to perform tax services.
• Maintain ongoing communication with senior management and principals to manage expectations, ensure satisfaction, make sure deadlines are met, and lead change efforts effectively.
• Attend professional development and training sessions on a regular basis and stay informed regarding tax changes and issues that could affect clients.
Qualifications and Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting (150 semester hours of education preferred)
• CPA or eligibility to sit is highly desirable
• Master’s degree in Accounting is highly desirable
• Three to five + years of progressive public accounting experience in tax and international tax. Knowledge of trust and estate procedures is preferred.
• Bilingual (English + other language)
• Exceptional client service skills
• Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills
• Strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
• Work additional hours and travel to various client sites as needed
