Responsibilities
• Oversight of day to day department operations to ensure mortgage loans are managed in strict compliance with contract terms, industry servicing standards, federal and state regulations, and applicable Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, USDA and Ginnie Mae requirements
• Serve as the primary contact for all investor reporting and remitting activities with GSE’s and third party investors. Proactively initiate communication with these entities to ensure the company is delivering “White Glove” service to investors
• Create an effective servicing monitoring program to proactively identify and address potential compliance violations by internal and third party servicers of GSE servicing requirements
• Identify, initiate, and drive both cultural and infrastructure change to ensure industry standard Investor Reporting core competency development by the institution
• Introduce audit minded robust policy and procedure designed to help guarantee strong oversight of both internal and third party servicing operations tied to Investor Reporting functions
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 10+ years of progressive management experience in the areas of Mortgage Servicing
• Deep understanding of the entire mortgage loan servicing lifecycle with an ability to read and accurately interpret servicing contracts, promissory notes, security instruments, modification agreements and other legal documents related to mortgage portfolio asset servicing
• Solid knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to mortgage servicing, including a deep understanding of industry servicing requirements established in FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, USDA and GNMA guides
• Proven leadership aptitude with an ability to lead by example, develop and motivate subordinates, and influence peers within the organization
• Articulate and effective communicator able to prepare and deliver detailed oral and written presentations to external parties and senior management
• Solid analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously under strict time constraints
• Customer service mindset with a team and goal oriented approach to business decision making
• Superior ability to deal with ambiguity and change (flexible / adaptable)
• Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products with advanced Excel skills preferred
• Solid understanding of mortgage servicing accounting concepts and servicing account reconciliations
