Job Summary:
The M&A Solutions Group within the Mergers and Acquisitions Group in New York is looking for a Senior Associate or Vice President with M&A and Investment Banking experience to join the Anti-raid / Anti-activism team.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
Job Context:
The Anti-raid practice within the M&A Solutions Group is the oldest such practice on Wall Street and is a cornerstone of the broader Goldman Sachs M&A business. The Anti-raid team is principally responsible for executing unsolicited and contested M&A transactions and activism situations in which M&A is the primary activist objective. The team also focuses on preparing clients ahead of potential hostile situations, and generally marketing the firms capabilities in raid / activism defense.
Role Responsibilities:
You will work closely with the M&A teams across industry sectors and with colleagues in M&A Solutions to execute contested M&A and activism situations. You will travel with senior IBS and M&A representatives of the firm to present shareholder and vulnerability perspectives to clients.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of 5 years’ work experience
• OR MBA degree with at least 2 years’ post-MBA work experience
• Current investment banking experience, with M&A experience a specific focus
• Strong analytical and technical orientation, with experience performing financial and valuation analysis
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written

• Maturity to interact and show leadership with senior level clients
• Strong judgement and decisions making capabilities
• Personal initiative and integrity
• Strong team orientation and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with team members in multiple groups
