Position Description
The Director Tech Delivery provides technical delivery direction and oversight for IT application development initiatives to design, develop, deploy and sustain solutions that meet applicable business requirements while maintaining design integrity and adhering to best practices and Ally information technology, security and compliance policies and procedures.
Job Responsibilities
As a Technology Director, you will be responsible for all aspects of technical delivery including:
• Manage internal and vendor teams with the development and deployment of information technology applications, data and infrastructure projects in support of the bank portfolio
• Provide leadership in the strategic vision and benefits of applications and infrastructure improvements opportunities
• Leadership in understanding business strategy and associated requirements to ensure execution realizes the benefits established by strategic roadmap business proposition
• Leadership in the development and implementation of applications, information services architecture, infrastructure, technology templates, strategies and policies
• Direct all interfaces with vendors and external organizations to the IT team regarding system resources and system support issues
• Ensure that information regarding system development, work requests, and systems issues are clearly communicated on a timely basis to the technology teams
• Travel may be required to Ally Bank operations and/or call center locations.
Qualifications
• Strong technical acumen and experience supporting operations and/or call center businesses;
• Strong experience in Banking, with experience supporting Deposits back office operational processes
• Strong experience in with SLDC methodologies and techniques -- including both agile and waterfall methodologies
• Strong experience in implementing solutions with integration between disparate systems. Understanding of system integration critical dependencies.
• Strong vendor/workforce management experience including contract negotiations, change management, resource planning, and budget tracking/forecasting
• Effective and professional oral and written communication skills; ability to translate detailed technical problems/solutions into easy to understand business terms
• Experience with leading Fintech vendors and solutions, including FIS, Cedar, Fiserv, etc.
• Adaptable to a changing environment
• Ability to work with all levels of an organization
• Bachelor of Science and 10+ years or equivalent experience
