Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
Recommends the types of analysis that accommodate the business need and find commonality to standardize. Explores opportunities for higher level analytics with research function Ensures that required analysis is provided by team members. Manages a portfolio of projects. Manages the assignment and distribution of work to the team. Designs standardized peer review best practices. Defines and drives best practices around descriptive analytics. Presents analysis and recommendations to business partners and senior leaders. Applies descriptive analytics to analyze data, validates assumptions, understands results and effectively communicates results to a broader audience. Manipulates raw data and understand the ultimate design required to meet business requests. Interprets data to recognize patterns and analyze trends. Directs the development of reporting to monitor business critical results. Completes reasonability and validation tests using thorough business knowledge. Proactively stays abreast of data sources, identify best internal and external data sources in response to business requests.

Job Summary
Positions within this family explore and profile data, draw business inferences, complete analysis and clearly articulate findings for a target audience. This position performs accountabilities under limited supervision. Position is a senior level role, requiring significant previous experience in Descriptive Analytics. Position is accountable for performing and/or managing core tasks of Descriptive Analytic (the exploration and investigation of past business performance). This job may lead others. Definition of Limited Supervision: incumbents use own creativity to get the job done. Decision making is left up to incumbents. Incumbents receive assignments in general terms and are free to work out the details according to their own judgment. Interprets regulations and policies independently.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree or equivalent education or 6 years analytics experience. 5 years analytics experience required. Thorough knowledge of Insurance products/concepts required.
Education, Work Experience & Knowledge
Bachelors degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) preferred. 6+ years experience in Descriptive Analytics or related field preferred. 6+ years working successfully with Microsoft office products and software/programming applications specific to business supported preferred. Thorough knowledge of Descriptive Analytic practices and processes. 2+ years of management experience preferred. Thorough knowledge of the main features of the collection of data and the relationship of data elements to each other. Thorough Knowledge: Possesses advanced knowledge of subject matter in order to solve unusual as well as common work problems.
