Manages the development and continued improvement of banking products and services. Works with various business units in the planning, development, and implementation of the goals that support the growth targets of the individual products and services. Coordinates the communication of goals across all business lines and/or within the Product Management Group. Responsible for quantifying customer needs, market potential, operational feasibility, and profitability of new and current products and services. Assists in the planning, development, testing and distribution of product reporting across all lines of business. Responsible for executing product initiatives associated with annual operating plan. Drives execution and manages multiple strategic initiatives for new business and products. Creates strategies to drive the performance of product lines and/or alliances to ensure profitable operations within set guidelines. Researches industry trends, application and vendor offerings in order to effectively conceptualize and make changes to products. Responsible for coordinating decisions on individual and branch credit for specific activities or production toward goals. Analyzes and/or prepares statistical data in support of the sales units regarding sales and financial tracking and trending.
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, finance, or related field of study, or equivalent work experience required. Excellent written and verbal communications and trouble-shooting skills, strong vendor management and negotiation skills, and strong database knowledge and experience. Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in banking operations, technology, marketing, and/or product development required. Broad knowledge of the financial services industry and an ability to apply and develop innovative advances required.
Essential Job Responsibilities
1. Manages the development and continued improvement of banking products and services.
2. Works with sales management in each line of business as well as other departments in the planning, development and implementation of goals and incentive programs that support the growth targets of the individual products and services.
3. Coordinates the development and communication of goals across all business lines and/or within the Product Management Group and other departments.
4. Responsible for quantifying customer needs, market potential, operational feasibility, and profitability of new and current products and services.
5. Creates strategies to drive the performance of product lines and/or assigned alliances to ensure profitable operations within set guidelines and creates tracking reports for monitoring such strategies (includes contests and promotions).
6. Continually assess product lines’ abilities to meet market needs and business objectives by researching industry trends, application and vendor offerings in order to effectively conceptualize and make changes to product offerings and/or systems supporting the entire sales process.
7. Monitors the integrity and accuracy of the sales tracking and reporting system and recommends enhancements and improvements in the processes or systems surrounding product sales tracking and reporting.
8. Responsible for coordinating decisions on individual and branch credit for specific activities or production toward goals.
9. Develops and maintains a corporate product line that is simple to sell and easy to buy.
10. Develops competitive analyses and pricing models to formulate recommendations and parameters for pricing implementation in various markets.
11. Functions as an authorized signer for product specifications or system changes relative to application set-up or programming.
12. Provides business and technical solutions to end-users by marshalling the required department resources needed to affect the solutions and champions the cause of minimizing application changes by developing solutions that can be implemented without requiring system changes or modifications.
13. Manages the creation, development and introduction of new products and services to enhance the current and future product mix.
14. Develops and implements programs for new and existing products and services that capitalize on business opportunities to target new and existing customer segments as well as to respond quickly to competitor information.
15. Monitor the results of specific marketing campaigns; reports results, monitors ongoing status of products and tracks results/profitability.
16. Responsible for understanding the features and capabilities of the appropriate banking applications that affect the assigned business unit operations.
17. Works with Executive Management to prioritize requested business unit information solutions to ensure resources are applied to the highest priority activities.
18. Provides leadership and mentoring to other business unit liaisons, including performance and training.
19. Communicates status of projects, product changes and other group initiatives to all employees.
