The Consumer Direct Mortgage Manager (CDM) is responsible for the Bank’s outbound calling and digital mortgage origination strategy, including top of line profitability, expense control, adherence to budget guidelines, lead management, recruiting, training, policy, procedure and day-to-day analytics of all Consumer Direct Originations both in market and in other identified outside markets.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for the overall profitability of the Consumer Direct Mortgage Origination channel.
2. Works in tandem with the EVP, Mortgage Banking, to establish a budget and achieve target originations.
3. Develops and monitors key profitability and performance metrics.
4. Coordinates distinct Consumer Direct policies and procedures within existing divisional policies and procedures to the degree necessary in support of digital and outbound calling efforts within this distinct line of business.
5. Works with Training Manager to conduct and coordinate continued mortgage industry training within the Consumer Direct Mortgage line of business.
6. Develops reporting for line of business, including tools and dashboards for monitoring of key activities of sales team.
7. Coordinates market pricing and product deliveries with Manager, Secondary Market.
8. Monitors performance of sales team and assist in day-to-day loan oversight.
9. Works in tandem with Administration and Training Manager for the on-boarding of new Loan Originators.
10. Monitors and evaluates workflows and technology to improve efficiency of the Consumer Direct Origination staff.
11. Reviews and approves all Loan Originators commission statements.
12. Works with EVP, Mortgage, Marketing and Compliance Officers in development of marketing materials.
13. Directly supervises the sales team. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include recruiting, interviewing, and hiring Originators for teams.
14. Works to ensure the department’s compliance with all banking laws, bank policies and federal regulations.
Bona Fide Occupational Qualifications:
1. Must register and maintain current registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS). The NMLS website (mortgage.nationwidelicensingsystem.org) provides the MU4R questions and registration required for employment in this position.
2. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. An associate’s degree or advanced training is preferred.
3. A minimum of five (5) years of related experience is required. Experience managing a Consumer Direct Mortgage Team is preferred.
4. Exceptional time management ability is critical, as are communication and organizational skills.
5. A valid driver’s license and ability to travel regionally are required.
