Our Occupational Health Consultants provide practical industry expertise, leadership and consultative guidance to strengthen the customer's Wellness Program and educate their employees on how to prevent workplace injuries. The position acts as a resource to other internal Risk Control consultants working in collaboration with the customer to reduce losses from shoulder, knee, back and ankle injuries at target locations.
Please Note: This position is eligible to be hired at different levels depending on experience.
Responsibilities:
• Conducting training with the customer's management and non-management employees related to preventing Shoulder, Knee, Back and Ankle related injuries.
• Provides technical expertise to the customer regarding Health and Wellness program implementation and employee training.
• Creates shared and best practices for use by the customer and consultants to enhance Wellness programs and prevent Shoulder, Knee, Back and Ankle injuries at other customer locations.
• Provides technical support to Risk Control consultants regarding Health and Wellness programs and initiatives.
• Analyzes and reviews loss data to identify injury trends for developing deliberate change strategies to reduce losses from Shoulder, Knee, Back and Ankle injuries.
• Participates in Safety Council meetings with the customer's upper management to develop continuous health and safety solutions.
• Incorporates behavioral interventions, such as observation and feedback, into the OH consulting services to prevent Shoulder, Knee, Back and Ankle injuries.
• Consults effectively to demonstrate that positive business relationships exist with the customer's District and Region staffs up to and including the District/Region Manager.
• Collaborates with customer safety committees, Wellness Champions, and operational management at target locations to support Wellness programs and initiatives as well as implementing solutions to prevent Shoulder, Knee, Back and Ankle injuries.
• Collaborates with the customer and RCS consultant counterparts to complete projects related to improvement Wellness and/or reduce Shoulder, Knee, Back and Ankle injuries.
• Develops a thorough understanding of the customer's risk, systems, methods, and metrics.
• Enhances Liberty Mutual's industry leadership and brand awareness through speaking engagements at conferences.
• Compiles, shares, and maintains a reference library of industry and loss specific resources and tools. Job requires up to 50% travel to 4-5 customer locations.
• The position location is the Chicago, IL or Dallas, TX areas and will require occasional work during early morning and/or late evening hours, and overnight travel to various customer locations.
Qualifications:
Successful candidates will possess the following:
• BS in Nursing, accreditation as a Registered Nurse (RN), a Certified Occupational Health Nurse – Specialist (COHN-S) is preferred.
• 2-15 years of experience in Occupational Health with experience in manufacturing or transportation industry.
• Working towards, or obtained, an advanced degree and/or professional certification in one or more of the following areas: CCM, COHN-S, or industry specific designation;
• Advanced knowledge, skills and experience in industry methods, related health and safety standards and risks;
• Fully effective interpersonal, writing and other communication skills required to develop and maintain relationships;
• Demonstrated ability to identify and set priorities; commit to and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment;
• Demonstrated success in team building, problem solving and conflict resolution;
• Excellent coaching and mentoring skills
