POSITION SUMMARY:
This role provides presentation and communication support for Retail Financial Services (RFS) Leadership and is responsible for researching, writing and editing presentations for delivery to internal and external audiences. The role provides strategic communications counsel and execution on various communications programs across all audiences, including external presentations for clients and customers, as well as employee communications to engage the members of the RFS organization. The ability to translate business strategy into easy-to-understand communications across verbal, written, visual, video, etc. will be crucial for the success of this role.
This individual also plays a significant role in communications related to the evolution of RFS, collaborating with others in TIAA to engage employees as well as external audiences including media, clients, prospects and other key audiences in RFS value proposition. This individual is responsible for producing materials that articulate the RFS vision and strategy, deliver company messages and further strategic goals of RFS. Audiences include employees, clients, Trustees, the news media, public officials, global business and academic leaders, and professional associations. Typical topic areas include corporate strategy, industry trends, corporate values, Marketing trends, women and investing, customer-focused innovation, leadership and change, etc.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
• Develop opportunities to leverage RFS leadership as visible ambassadors for the firm with key internal and external audiences
• Research and analyze financial, retirement and related topics, trends and issues that are being discussed in the public arena by business, political and social leaders, in order to develop a compelling thought-leadership platform
• Create presentations that engage critical audiences to convey critical programs and metrics spanning marketing and carry the voice of RFS Leadership
• Support relationship management activities between RFS and key clients and other external organizations
• Collaborate on creative communications programs to engage employees in the RFS organization
• Execution must span the full audience and presentation experience – identification of presentation goals, gathering related content, data and materials, briefing materials, reviews, creative, AV and follow ups
• Obtain, review, synthesize, and compile information about complex customer, marketing, retirement and related topics that form the factual background for presentations and other communications
• Lead the development of presentations and other materials to assure that key messages are distributed through a variety of communication channels (e.g., video, web content, etc.)
• In collaboration with the RFS Chief of Staff and other members of the RFS team, helping to identify opportunities for RFS to deliver company messages and recommending forums and approaches for delivering those messages
• Coordinate with senior company leaders and subject matter experts to assure that RFS messages are strategic and forward-looking, reflect relevant business and company knowledge, and are based on research and market intelligence
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or related field
• Minimum 10+ years of proven experience in creating relevant and engaging presentations and content (Artifacts Requested)
Desired Qualifications:
• Financial Services knowledge and experience preferred
• Experience in a creative agency or marketing organization preferred
• Proven ability to deliver high-volume and high-quality content.
• Ability to quickly grasp, distill and communicate complex subjects through words, PowerPoint presentations and other media
• Superior story telling abilities – and demonstrated experience in telling a story through visual media
• Understanding of key marketing concepts
• Experience working in a deadline-driven environment
