Job Description

The Summer Leadership Development program is an internship program starting in May of 2018 that will provide you with an opportunity to combine real-life work experiences with classroom and technical training to help you pursue an underwriting role in the future. It will introduce you to the reinsurance industry and provide you with a solid foundation to develop leadership skills. We are committed to supporting you with a program that focuses on strengthening your professional and personal skills. From your first day, you will participate in meaningful projects that have real impact on the future of our organization. In addition to your project work, throughout the summer you will also have the opportunity to meet with members of the executive leadership team, network with colleagues, be involved in volunteer opportunities, and receive guidance from a highly skilled mentor. By participating in a variety of projects, discussions and training, you’ll build your leadership, teamwork and communication skills.
Our Summer Leadership Development program acts as a pipeline or feeder program and is designed to help Munich Re America select and prepare candidates for our full time International Graduate Trainee Program, a program designed to attract recent college graduates and prepare them for future professional underwriting roles in the Insurance industry. Qualifications
The Summer Leadership Development Internship program is open to students who are in their junior year of an undergraduate program or in their first year of a graduate degree program and have:
• GPA 3.25 and above
• Superior communication skills (oral and written)
• Good interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical capabilities
• Ability to think strategically and function tactically
• Tech savviness
• Demonstrated leadership abilities in college or community activities
