Responsibilities:
• Responsible for supervising a variety of accounting activities related to financial reporting projects and analyses, such as N-SAR, N-CSR, N-Q, N-PX, N-MFP, and 24f-2.
• Responsible for supervision of Staff and Senior personnel in the daily, monthly, and annual financial reporting functions.
Essential Functions:
• Coordinates the semiannual and annual financial reporting process for all audit cycles.
• Provide leadership and direction for a team of direct reports.
• Develop staff to maximize their potential.
• Coordinate and follow up on projects and process improvements.
• Assist in the training and development of new and current staff.
• Establish goals for the team and determine a course of action to achieve those goals.
• Work closely with other management in the department to focus on implementation and refinement of more effective work processes.
• Reconciles financial statements to general ledgers or supporting schedules.
• Communicates with departments to discuss reporting deadlines and to answer questions as needed.
• Researches and resolves complex problems.
• Review Staff Accountants completion of work papers that support Financial Reporting schedules for accuracy and timely submission during semiannual and annual reporting periods.
• Updates departmental training materials.
• Completes departmental tracking and reporting as required.
• Reviews various financial information such as adjusting journal entries, board reporting, and other monthly reporting.
• Provides explanations to audit firm regarding annual audit.
• Reviews board reporting schedules.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Directly manages exempt Staff and Senior personnel.
• Plans, allocates, and monitors work.
• Makes decisions regarding employment, performance appraisal, training, salary adjustments, and related personnel actions.
Minimum Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent required
• At least 3 years of Mutual Fund Accounting, Financial Reporting, or related experience required
• Strong:

◦ Computer skills including MS Word and Excel

Preferred Qualifications:
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of mutual fund industry and fund accounting
